One of our forum members advised to use the gray and white pads to restore the brushed finished on a ss mod. 64. Unable to find either one, any one know where these are sold? Found on internet but must order a case. Any other way to remove scratches and return to original finish? Thanks, Tedog

Ace, or True Value hardware carries them - any paint store - home depot - Lowes

I gave up on the gray ones, no store around me had them. Just get the synthetic extra fine "steel" wool. It's like a $1 for a 4x8 sheet. The regular Blue Pads in the dish washing section work well also.

The ones you mentioned are more often found at Automotive stores for refinishing.

They are color coded for abrasiveness and available at any automotive paint supply. If you just need a little stop by a body shop and beg.

Tedog,

PM or e-mail me your mailing address and I'll pop a couple of them in the mail to you this week.

If you need more than a few, most automotive paint suppliers carry both the grey & maroon (extra, extra fine).. Call them..

Green and gray pads are a stocked item at Loews or Home Depot next to the sandpaper and steel wool in the paint section.
