Which length 27-2 would you get if you could only have one

I have no idea how many dozens and dozens of guns I've owned over the decades and that includes dozens of Smith & Wesson revolvers with some Smith semi-autos scattered in. Of all those guns owned and sold over time I have few regrets, but one of those is a Model 27-2 in five-inch. It was the perfect N-Frame and five inch is the best barrel length for any N-Frame in my opinion.

In the early 90s we were making some expensive improvements and building additional space at our home and I thought I should sell some guns to help finance those building expenses. My wife was very much against it, but I sold several guns, including some nice Japanese made Winchester over-under and side by side shotguns. Plus, that Model 27 and a Model 25-2.

I try not to think of that move very often since I usually wind up with a bruised forehead from beating it against a wall.

I have the itch for my first 27-2 most likely they will multiply since these revolvers are like potato chips. But if you could only have one length that is a pleasure to shoot which would it be?

I don’t plan on carrying it, just bringing a smile to everyone’s face when they shoot it.

What is the difference in the front sight variations I keep seeing?
For me, the 3 1/2 inch is just right.

As for Model 27 my grail gun is a 3.5” 27-2.
I have a 4”. A nickel 6”. A blue 6”. And a blue 8 3/8”.
I do have a Pre 27 in 3.5” from 1954. It will do for now. Still looking for that elusive 3.5” 27-2

3 1/2 “; I have a 5” and love it. Made in 73 or 4

Have had lots of .357 Magnums of all flavors. The one I like best and have hung onto is my 27-2 3.5". Will keep it until my dirt nap, then one of the Grandsons will cherish it, I hope!

I sold my 5 inch and of course regret it. It was a 99%+ gun and I couldn't bring myself to shoot it so it went down the road. I'll find a bruised one to replace it someday.
I too have an exc 5 in that I won't shoot bought another 5 in in an online auction...It had a few issues with the finish...Paid 180 bucks. Even with the issues it was a great buy. Cleaned it up and it shoots to POA at 25 yds...even if it's not pretty
