Which would you find most desirable?

Would would you find most desirable a Model 29-2 with a 4" barrel or Model 19-3 2.5" barrel. Lets assume both guns are equally in good shape. The model 29 does not have the original box, tools, etc and the model 19 comes with original box, tools etc.

I vote for the 19 because I have no use for a .44 anything.

I'd grab the 29 because it is much more versatile and I'm a big Model 29 fan! A lot would depend on what you want to use it for.

Most definitely the Model 29-2. Nothing comes close to S&W N-frame.

The 4" barreled M29-2. Opposite of Grog, I have no use for a relatively heavy short barreled .357 Magnum.

If value and pricing are a consideration, it is a stretch for the M19 to come within $100 of what the M29 will bring.

I would get the 19 because I have the 4" M29 already and the M29 snub is next on my list.

If the choice was between a 29-2 and a 28-2 with 4 inch barrel I could go either way but between a K frame and N frame I'd buy the N frame every time.

Go with the 29 if you can handle the frame size and learn to shoot it with Specials. Great gun!

I once owned a Model 29 and I sold it in a moment of madness. I've never forgiven myself. I already have a Model 19 which will never leave my stable. The answer to the question would have to depend upon your needs. If you want a revolver for carry and concealment the Model 19 is your baby. The Model 29 serves other purposes such as for camping in wilderness areas or hunting. Either gun you choose is a winner.

I prefer 357 mag over 44 mag, so I would go with the Mod 19. I like N frames a lot, but I take my N frames in 357. Either way you will be happy, both are great guns, maybe you can get a buy 1 get one half price deal

Considering I already have a 2 1/2" 66 I would take the 29-2. The 4" 29 would be a good match for a Jordan Border Patrol holster I have for my 28-2.
