Who does most of the cooking at your home

Well a few years ago my wife wanted to do some remodeling in the kitchen. I insisted the new counters have a full 3 inch indent at the base so my wife can stand closer to the stove and sink. Before I retired full time I did some cooking, I was pretty good at it. But now my wife does 99% of the cooking. But I do help with dishes every evening, 99% of the time.

The women in my wife's family do not cook. Boiling water is at the end of their skill range and they are often not even good for that.

I retired early at 54 - the deal with my wife was, I take care of the house until she retires at age 59 1/2.
I do 90% of the cooking, laundry, & house up-keep. Wifey cooks on weekends & generally helps out on continuing projects. I really don't mind as I'm the better cook and I get to cook the meals I like.
Only 6 1/2 years left until she retires.

Sounds like a distressing number of young people the last ten or twenty years. If they can't pull something out of the freezer and nuke it, to hell with it--they'll go get fast food somewhere.

Sad. I think all kids, boys and girls, should have to learn at least the basics of cooking in school, since few parents seem to teach it anymore. My siblings and I learned the rudiments at home, and all three of us later realized we loved cooking and became good cooks. We're Irish, but my sister does marvelous Indian food, especially the fiery styles from the south of India.

My wife does all the cooking except Sunday mornings. I make the bacon and eggs for both of us. It gives her some time off. Also all holiday mornings since she does all the rest of the days cooking I'll make breakfast no matter what it is.

I really don't like to cook breakfast unless it's for a group of people.
I almost never make my own. I support the local economy before 09:00.

I don't even keep coffee in the house any more.

Hey, I'm a man, I'll admit it, I do all the cooking in my house. It's a second marriage and a promise I made to her after she had already raised and cooked for six children of her own. It's sort of a hobby for me that I enjoy and besides I'm a much better cook than she is just like all the great chefs of the world which are men.

You said it same here:D
