Who does most of the cooking at your home

The wife of course, you got to remember that's why woman have short feet!:D

With that said, my wife does most of the cooking, it just worked out that way as many times she got home after work much earlier than me. (Now both of us long retired) I can and do cook but really do not like to.

My wife is a Red Hat and goes to a lot of their events all over the country. If she is gone let's say 4-5 days I might cook dinner for two of those days and eat out the others. We have a real good family owned diner down the road, food is cheap, well done and people are friendly. Same for breakfast 2 on 2 off, many lunches at home no cooking required simply build a sandwich from lunch meats/cheese in refrig....

Hey, I'm a man, I'll admit it, I do all the cooking in my house. It's a second marriage and a promise I made to her after she had already raised and cooked for six children of her own. It's sort of a hobby for me that I enjoy and besides I'm a much better cook than she is just like all the great chefs of the world which are men.

Since I retired and my wife is still working I'm doing most of the cooking now. I'm learning and the crockpot is my new friend.
Now it's getting colder I won't be grilling as much and need new ideas to cook the beef and pork we have in our freezers.

Mom did teach her sons to cook, clean and sew as she claimed we might not always have a woman to do so for us. She didn't know then how the world would change but thanks Mom for the lessons.

Let's get this straight. There is nothing effeminate about cooking. It's as important a survival skill as there is. Making something edible and taste good is an art. If you go into a restaurant, most likely, the chef is a man. My mother was an outstanding cook, I learned from her. As a scout, I earned my cooking merit badge mostly in her kitchen.

Me. I do the canning, pies, breads, casseroles, etc. Wife does cakes and cookies and a few dishes. She can grill a MEAN tri-tip!

Brian: a few ideas: Take pork chops and cover with Campbell's Golden Mushroom soup (about 3 cans in a 9x9 baking dish). Bake at 350 for an hour or so. Serve with white rice.

Take a beef or pork roast. Add to crock pot and cover with one jar of your favorite salsa (Pace, store-brand==I use home-made). Add additional peppers, onions, cumin, cilantro and a teaspoon of fresh chopped garlic. Simmer on low overnight. Let cool and shred meat with 2 forks (it SHOULD fall apart).

After it is shredded, you can use it to make tamales, taquitos/flautas, soft tacos, carnitas, enchiladas, etc

Take cubed beef or pork and slow cook with Carroll Shelby's chili mix, an onion, some garlic. Just meat, no beans. Add a couple of chipotle peppers (dried and smoked jalapenos). Makes great Chile Colorado

I'm not a fan but I'm sure you can find some Chile Verde recipes on line. For real fun, try making your own tortillas.

Agreed. My grandfather was the cook for a lumber camp in the Cascades. Later on, he broke horses, rode pro rodeo (won $200 at the Calgary Stampede in 1918), farmed potatoes and built a tract of rentals in L.A. Hardly a "dainty flower".

While in grad school, we (wife and I and two dogs) lived off of an elk, a big mulie and two wild hogs, supplemented with pheasant and quail. That's when I learned to cook.

My first job at 15 was in a restaurant, learned my love of cooking there. Pure joy to be able to take care of feeding yourself and family. Did 90% of the cooking, in the house. Would have been my chosen profession, but, the pay was not there at the time I was raising my family. The best cooks are men.

My wife does! I can't cook even though in my early days I was a short order cook in an all night diner!

I do. It is kinda a hobby and relaxes me after work. Some refinish furniture, some like to tend a garden, I cook. Give me a beer, a boat drink, or a bottle of wine and a good set of knives and I'm right as the rain..... But I'm not running a buffet or serving hors d'oeuvre. Everyone else get the f@#% out of my kitchen!!!

I do all of the grilling and some specialty things for dinner. I do my own breakfasts too.

My friend at deer camp does all of our cooking and he is an excellent cook, the best. I made the mistake of bragging to my wife about all of the good things Russ cooks for us and she said "Why don't you go live with Russ?" I keep quiet now.

After tinkering with guns I say my next favorite activity is cooking. I don't do all the cooking as my wife is a great cook herself but I don't ever object to doing it. The Internet at least for me has made finding new and different recipes a snap.
