Who likes 5" Ns....

I see my amigo has started a thread about what he knows to be my absolute favorite barrel length for N Frames.

The 5" addiction actually got started here when, after reading years of Keith, I purchased a 5" Classic model from N Frame.

The sheer volume of small game taken with that particular .44 would cause some to call me names...

5-Inch N-Frames?

What's not to like?

Since they're technically not 5", I omitted my Model of 1917, Colt New Service Model of 1917, and my Model 22-4 Model of 1917, but they're great shooters.

This one is a favorite among my Model 27's

This one is balanced very nicely, and I traded a 625JM to get it:

I believe the 5 inch N frame balances perfectly and was always my favorite.

For anyone that wants a 5" and can't find the gun, I have two 5" barrels available; one is a Classic from a M 29 44 mag, the other is a Classic from a 629 44 mag. Both are about 95%. PM me with an offer. ............ Big Cholla

So, how was the enduro riding?
It's pretty good up here in northern Idaho.

Mr. T about wore me out on one ride that went from a dirt road to a steep rock and sand 4-wheeler trail. KLR650s are great all around bikes and fantastic for dirt roads but since I had not done trail riding in 40 years, about the time T. was born, I had to go a little slower than he was able to... He did however make it a trip of a lifetime for me...although a few times my life did pass before my eyes...

A great trip... - 24hourcampfire

Man, you guy's are making me jealous with those 5" .44's. I have a 629 Classic with a 6 1/2" barrel that I like too much to have cut down. Looking at all of these pics is making me want to look for a project model 29.

I don't really have a favorite, I like them all ;)

I only ever had one 5 inch N frame and that was a Model 27-2 and someday I want another one.

Bob

I'm jealous. I've long wanted to take a trip out and tread the trails Elmer did, and shoot big N frames until I felt Saint Elmer smile down upon me.
