329

I have a PD 329. It shoots very well and I like the sights. It is not a pleasant gun to shoot with full power 44's but does well with reduced loads.

I have one also and have not shot it much. I have shot it enough to know it is scary accurate as is. At first I was not a huge fan of the sites but I can not complain....I am able to shoot it well.

Got three, one with about 1700 rounds through it. Changed out the sights on two of them. 500 grips makes them pleasant to shoot.

Yup, got one. It goes out with me, just about everyday. I shoot exactly what I carry in it. 240 gr. Lazer Cast semi-wadcutter behind a healthy dose of 2400. Its been shot quite a bit. Just put S&W X frame Hogue grips on it.
Just remember, its a carrying gun, not alot of shootin gun. If you want to shoot it alot, find a nice reduced load. Your bones and muscles, or nerves aren't gonna take a real heavy dose of warm loads.
Past shooting gloves do help. Accuracy is spooky good, if you work with it to where you are controlling it, and not the other way around.

Got mine off Gunbroker, with a brand new factory frame, including the letter from the factory. They aren't hard to find. It also helps that I have my FFL too.
Most people dump 12 rds. of factory ammo through them. Take their broken hand and peck out an auction or a listing on GunsAmerica and try to recoop some of their money.
They are one of the easiest .44's to find. Sometimes the price is a bit steep, as they are almost unused guns, and the owners want to regain their money. Good Luck on your quest.

blueknight7 is spot on in his post. Most used 329s have seen next to no range time due to the fact that most guys grab full power 44mag loads and shoot it a bit for the first time and decide to dump them in quick order. What most do not know is that a simple grip change and a little practice make the 329 the ideal pack/mountain pistol.

I have two. I changed the rear sight blade on one. Great carry gun.

I think the 329 is the best 44 Special they've ever built. Its light enough to carry and when used that way isn't too bad to shoot. On the other hand, its not the most user friendly 44 Mag ever built. In fact, it tends to be on the other end of things, maybe being one of the worst when firing.

What most new owners do is take it out and want to see just how mean that bad boy could be. They find out. Running full power 44s is more of a novelty than a practical thing to do every day.

This is good news, thanks!

Just sent another "329PD?" e-mail to my local gun emporium (Larry's Pistol and Pawn, Hsv., AL). They didn't have on last week, we'll see if any came this week.

Thanks,
