EFFECTOR

What's the story on "The Effector", R_H?

According to the letter, it was sent from the S&W factory directly to Jovino, a well known gunsmith shop in New York, in 1985

It started life with a 6" barrel and was converted to 3" by Jovino. While there it recieved some trigger work and was stamped "EFFECTOR".

I was told that they were called EFFECTOR's because the barrel was cut down the maximum length to still have the ejector rod work "EFFECT"ivly.

My snubbies

Do these count?? They range from the 1 7/8" 36 to the 3 1/2" Model 27.

Ah, I see. That was the first thought that came to mind, that it was a name stamped by a 'smith for a custom job...cool name for CM though. Very nice collection, by the way! I hope to have something nearly that nice amassed as I get older and more and more into the good ol' Smiths :D Thanks for sharing...
