I find it baffling that S&W can't keep a steady supply of Shields going to the distributors. I am a FFL, I see that Springfield Armory keeps a steady supply of their popular 9mm Range Officers headed to the distributors but the "well" of Shields is always "dry".
The demand for firearms (handguns) in the last 3-4 months has abated since the November elections but the firearms buying public still seem to want the Shield. I understand S&W has always traditionally had a production hiatus the last couple of months of the year but customer loyalty and demand should dictate how long maintenance shutdown lasts not "Tradition". Geez I had a similar problem last year, took two months just to get a simple part. Sam Summey B&S Gunsmithing. I don't expect to favorable responses from S&W Forum members, but I hope someone at S&W is reading the Forum Mail.
