I own several different brands of guns. Each has it's own personality. I like each of them for what they are. Even though there are new striker fired handguns that have better out of the box features, a Glock has several advantages.
A Glock's relatively minimalist design lends itself to reliability. It has the sum total of 34 parts. Those parts are also relatively inexpensive and widely available. Magazines are relatively inexpensive. The Glock is one of the easiest pistols for an owner to maintain. First it doesn't require much maintenance. Second, if it does I can detail strip a Glock to it's component parts with a single punch. I can put all the parts in an ultrasonic cleaner, inspect them, and replace any worn parts. To me that's the advantage of a Glock. I like my other pistols, but none are as easy or as inexpensive to work on as a Glock.
To each his or her own.
