Why Do I Live Here?

Ohio is an OKAY place to live!

It gets hot in summer! OKAY

It gets cold in winter! OKAY

It rains in spring! OKAY

In fall we rake leaves! OKAY!

But we have hot babes to do that with! Why go anywhere else?

If you want to see how other people in the World live, Join the NAVY! (My family is ARMY and a few USMC) We just like to invade nice places, and bring more hot babes back to OHIO!

Moved from PA to TN 32 years ago. Not a real smart guy but it was one of my better decisions. East Tennessee has been a nice place to live and raise our children. Until very recently it was also very cost effective as to taxes and cost of living but this madness that is causing the decay of our nation financially has resulted in diminishing returns including an unprecedented rise in crime.

I don’t put much stock in these type of list. I know enough about statistics to make them say whatever I want. To prove my perspective. People who say the numbers don’t lie, don’t know how numbers work. The only thing that matters is the residents opinion. People have lots of different reasons for liking one place more than another. That’s what matters. Not the statistics from a bureaucrat or politician. Or an author trying to make a statement.

I'm in state #5 in regards to "safe states." I can't complain. All our kids live close. Our town of 1200 is pretty quiet.

We have all four seasons. I'm not too fond of summer, though, when temperatures get into the 90's and 100's. I mean, when it's cold (and Utah can get really cold in the winter), you can always put on more clothing. When it's hot, however, there's a limit you can take off without the neighbors calling the sheriff.:D And it still doesn't help.

Fall is my favorite season. Nice days, chilly nights where a fire in the wood stove feels good. The only problem is that fall doesn't last long.:(

My state, Texas, came in at #48, but we're still ahead of #49, Mississippi. Just another piece of data that supports the decades-old mantra of Texas public officials: "Thank God for Mississippi!"
Being a Texan, cannot understand why Texas is rated so low. I think it is a wonderful state. But if that is what it takes to keep the West Coasters and East Coasters out, I can live with it.

I live in Arizona, the Tucson area. Don't come here. It's terrible and you'll all die from the dry heat. Everything here in the Sonoran desert either bites, burns, sticks, or stings! Stay away!!

I took the photo about 1/2 mile from my place. Horrible place here.

And this pic is the ghastly type of scene I have to look at from my patio!

Seven paragraphs about how great our area is and no mention of THE BILLS? That’s blasphemy

Our DIL is a Southern Belle from GA. Her team is the Bulldogs.

Our Southern Tier Camp is adorned by BOTH flags, plus we watch both teams on TV. Both of our boats fly BOTH flags as well.

Sports teams seem to follow you wherever you go. That's why it goes without saying, thus it sometimes does not need mentioning.

Funny thing, the DIL is now a Sabres fan as well.

Good for your DIL. I wish we had a decent hockey team for her. But she’s probably used to it. Atlanta managed to loose their franchise twice lol.

Wisconsin is ranked #19, and gotta believe the NW rural part is one of the safest areas. The biggest danger seems to be freezing to death or getting run over by tour pest/grandparent meth head. However am prepared for any n koreans invading through Superior harbor. Course there was the time 2 biker gangs (real deal) road through town on their way to a meeting/discussion further north.

I've skied Killington, Sugarbush, Mt Snow; best skiing East of the Mississippi. But I've been in Florida since 1980, haven't been on skis since 1984. We are just coming into our "good season." Cool, dry sunny days until next May. Shoot guns outdoors with maybe a hoodie as the wind picks up some days. Beach, fishing for Thanksgiving or Christmas depending on the weather. Hunt in a T shirt just spray on the "Deep Woods Off." I have a heat pump that I will need for A/C 10X more than heat this Winter. I ain't ever living anyplace I need to shovel the weather again.
PS, proud to be in the "bottom 5." Joe

You might be onto something...Never visited Vermont and frankly don't run into all that many people from there probably because they all stay home. I like this town (Spokane, WA) and the area, Winters are what they are and we may be in for a dandy this year, I look forward to Spring and Fall and the time in between.

You don't run into a lot of Vermonters because there's not very many of them. The population of the whole state is like 650,000.
