And that's just for .40 - lets throw in some 9mm:

"The new 9mm Luger contract is worth a maximum of $54 million, and the two contracts combined will be worth a maximum of $108 million over five years - the largest ammunition contracts in the history of federal law enforcement."

That's a hell of a lot more than 200 million rounds. And we still haven't counted up the .223, 12 gauge (buckshot and slugs) and 10mm (yes, we still shoot that), plus a smattering of .308 Win.

I guess that most folk's definition of "horading ammo" doesn't come close to this then, does it?

Well then, suggest other US citizens to buy a few cases of anything they can.

After I get a few more first.

Easy folks, I work for them, and IIRC the article states it was a muliple year contract for ICE, like 5 years or something. We qualify 3 times a year, and with all the shooting at FLETC, it does add up to lots 'o ammo.

BTW, we're issued H & K's now, no more Berettas.

BTW Bobcat, I was emailed the press release on this early today. It made me feel good, especially after the talk about going with 135 grain ammo not too long back. I can't wait to get my hands on some. Shoot, I don't know how bad y'all have it up there but we haven't had any practice ammo issued for over a year, only enough for the qual.

Even the pistol team has gone without an annual practice allotment for two years. Hopefully this means the ammo truck will be swinging by the station soon...I'm getting low.

our slice of Uncle Sugar's world does not dump, destroy or bury usable ammo. The last team practice issue I received included some 1985 vintage red box Federal wadcutter, with original shipping labels to Hawaii District Office.
