Won't create a new post just to be the jerk in this thread, but I wouldn't pay $250 for that gun. The Post Modern cosmetic features -- of which there seem to be a plethora -- are all acts of aesthetic sabotage against a classic and revered design/profile/BRAND. As if they hit the dwg board and said "How many areas of the gun can we uglify by introducing changes of questionable utility...?
...As I see it, the underlugged 585/686 was an unconvincing 'shootability' move whose real intention was to rip the Python off. Not even the Python experienced useful reduction in muzzle rise by adding weight up front, so why should Smith enter those waters...?
