Why it really sucks to get old

Am glad to wake up in the morn, and if get out of bed without hurting myself, will deal with anything else. Doing the best have been in over 15 years, so went out and bought motorcicle. Live it while ya got it, and you can't buy time.

Arthritis from the neck to my toes, ain't fun.
My shooting has dropped off substantially. Back to shooting revolvers only, too hard to rack most slides on semi's.

There you go. More people should be like that.

Just imagine how much more fun life would be if folks would just stop sitting at a keyboard every day, complaining and ranting about stuff they can't do anything about.

Get outside, even if you can't do anything but sit on the porch for thirty minutes. Or walk around the yard if that's as far as you can walk. Get some fresh air...open the garage door and sit there and watch it rain or snow.

Folks need to step away from the computer and the television and stop acting as if they've got one foot in the grave. You'll have both feet in it soon enough anyway.

Getting old

Every Dr visit they ask have you fallen lately I tell them no but I occasionally do random gravity checks . OldSeabee

Falls are the #1 cause of injury among the elderly. That's not from some cheesy commercial, it's what I see among my client fire departments when I look at their EMS runs.

"Falls" range from slipping from a chair to falling down a flight of stairs. Injuries range from none to fatal.

Oh, get rid of those throw rugs that some people seem to like. They are like land mines for elderly people.

I have thought about this aging thing for years. As stated above, I still have the desires and interests I have always had. Then it hit me. My soul, my spirit, is eternal. It does not age. My material body does. When my body dies, I will not be dead. My soul will be released. It will live forever. Where that will be depends on your actions here. You cannot earn your way into heaven. You get there by grace. Accept it or reject it.

True. You just change addresses.

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!!! Getting old is great. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to grow up in a time that still had some common sense. The experiences that I have had make life wonderful and it just gets better every day. I am getting all the old man aches and pains but God is pretty good at taking all that away when it gets in the way of doing his work. The body wearing out has about as much significance as my shoes wearing out. It just don't matter because life keeps getting better. Life actually does come with a set of instructions. It is all written down in a little book. They probably have a copy at the nearest church. Follow the direction and you will have eternal life and NEVER have a bad day.

There is an upside...

Breaking Bad marathon is starting in January. It'll be like the first time watching for me! ;)

Worst part about getting old is the body ages but the mind doesn't, I'm a young man trapped in an old man's body that's worn out and missing pieces. But what hasn't killed me has made me tougher and a fighter. First it was getting hit by a car and busting me up while I was standing on a sidewalk, then spine problems that spread from the lower back into my neck. After that I lost my leg from a damn five foot fall off a ladder and I survived cancer after that. Damn it all, I'm still here kicking and not ready to give up yet!
