Why join? - A curiosity.

As far as I know, my ancestry is Scottish. I'll bet that there are other flavors in there if you go back far enough. However, based on this......I believe there is some German in me because I can't translate that. How 'bout a little help there Snubby?
It's Blackfoot and basically it translates to:
See ya silly person.

I can't speak for others, but I joined to learn more about the 15-22. I think I actually joined before purchasing.
I stayed for a few reasons. Mainly I feel like this forum is filled with people I'd actually get along with if we happened to strike up a conversation at a range, show or LGS. I also enjoy learning about the huge variety of S&W firearms. While I might not have a specific interest in every single one, I'll often open a thread based on an interesting title, or just to learn about a model I'm not familiar with.
I usually post when I feel like I have something to add to a thread. Or if I find something that I can relate to, and can share something I think others would find interesting or amusing.

That being said, there are other forums I'm a member of, where I've joined but never felt like part of the group, or like I was a useful contributor to the group. Others I've joined and left after the common thread has ended, i.e. I no longer own the model X made by company Y for reason Z.

The only other forum I've been this active on is the fullsizechevy forum. With that forum I've met numerous local members for various part swaps, or shows and found out that a couple of my best friends were also members, un-known to me when I joined.

I joined because I have an M&P10, forums like this provide information for learning things, and I enjoy talking about firearms. I belong to other firearms forums as well but the list gets pared down over time if I don't like the atmosphere or it's too dead.

This is one of my more active ones. A good forum will keep it's members and give them desire to participate.
