I couldn't figure out for the longest time why I was shooting my Shield just as accurately as a full size handgun.

After reading a post from another gun forum this morning the light went on.

It now makes perfect sense to me why so many on this forum rave about the accuracy and handling of their Shield.

Please study the picture I have included.

See if you notice anything that would aid in the Shields accuracy and comfort especially for a person with large hands.

In the picture the Shield is overlaying a full size XD 45.

Answer: The backstrap of my full size XD and Shield to the trigger is the same distance.

Brilliant S&W for designing a concealed weapon that is a full size weapon where it counts from the backstrap to the trigger.

Excellent explanation. Since I prefure full size handguns, that explains why I like the Shield so much.

Thanks for sharing the observation. I love mine more and more every time I shoot it.

It's like my Shield 9mm was custom made just for me. The only other gun that has felt that way is my M&P 9mm full size. Now I see why. It's a real joy to handle and shoot them.

Very clever. Thanks for the post Russ it explains a lot. For me the Shield fits my hand better than most of what I own.
