Simple- Because we had to. We had been running that version of vBulletin since 2009. It was nearing "End of Life" and would no longer be supported with upgrades or security fixes. That would leave the forum vulnerable to attack.
We chose XenForo because it is very User friendly. I know we all hate change, but just stay calm and get to know it. You'll like it once you learn how easy it is to use. Also, most of the other gun forums are now using it, so you'll have the same experience on multiple forums that you use. It is particularly easy to post pics now!
I'm sure you have noticed that we don't have advertising installed yet. It will be soon, but ads don't really support us anymore. The payout from internet advertising has steadily decreased for the last eight years and only pays a small portion of what we need to operate.
So, I'm asking for your help. If you can afford it, please consider becoming a supporting member. We offer extra features to donating members.

THANKS to all of you who have supported us over the years. I sincerely appreciate you! You folks have kept us operating.

Okay, FINE! Once upon a time, I was sitting in a conference and the lecturer told us to cross our arms, which we did. Then he said, "Uncross them and do it the other way". Yeeouch! SO WEIRD! And he said, "Change is like that! Nobody likes it, etc.!"

We will all figure it out! Ain't no computer novices around this campfire!

Thanks, Lee!

From what I’ve seen so far with this new format convinces me that we’ve needed a change for a long time. The forum is much easier to navigate and is faster for sure. With this new system we can post multiple photos at one time. Works like a charm. I know how hard it is to accept change for some of us, but this is a good change. Don’t rush to judgement. Give it some time. I really like this change.
Thank you for all the hard work involved.

Format is great, except for the inability to auto size the content to the device where the content is being viewed. Have to scroll left and right to read even short posts on a phone. Very frustrating, and this is a frustration I will not get used to... Hard to enjoy the forum.

I am currently viewing this on my iPhone, not using an app, and it looks fine to me. No need for excessive scrolling, etc.

Usually on my iPad, which I prefer because screen is bigger, but given the size of an iPhone, it works quite well.
