My 10 year old and I absolutely love the nature show Wild Russia on Animal Planet. I THOUGHT I knew every interesting critter on the face of the earth from traveling, reading, watching nature shows. I was wrong! Last night we saw the weirdest mammal on this earth--a combination mole/rat/nutria/platypus/mini-elephant.

I think I watched this show when they released the big cat into the wilds.
Great show.

If I was younger I'd live in Alaska or Russian Siberia. I love the wilds, no people just animals.

My wife and I watch that show every chance we get. Terrific photography, amazing creatures, and the terrain resembles our neighborhood.

Mike/Bill--we think it is the best nature series we have ever seen (but for the classic Wild America that we have on DVD.

Russia has 9 time zones--hard for us to realize how huge and rural much of that country is. But you are dead on Mike, many of the regions are very similar to our's--Sibera/Alaska, Urals/Rockies, etc.
