...from Claus Willig...:

Dear Mr. Raimondi,
it is always a great pleasure to see again some of my engravings , done long ago.

Yes I engraved this revolver in 1969 for Paul Jaeger Inc. Jenkintown PA. ( it was a 55 hours job )

Concerning the stock: I never did any work on stocks! / END

I have a 44 Magnum sent to Germany by S&W in late 1957 for engraving a gold inlay. It was most likely done by Gustav Schildbach and returned to S&W for shipment to Rex Firearms in NYC. The information was provided by the German Gun Collectors. Click on the photo for a better look.

Absolutely breathtaking ! Congrats ! I have an early 1950's .38-44 Outdoorsman engraved and gold inlaid by Claus Willis in 1969. Thanks also to RKMesa who helped me identify the "Claus". It was like Christmas 1959 all over again when I found that one at some back alley, local auction.

Best Regards, Sal Raimondi

Thanks Sal! This thread would not be complete without pictures of your fabulous Willig engraved 38-44 Outdoorsman - kindly posted and credited by RKmesa in post# 21 above!

The guns in this thread are all most other worldly. I don't see how a human can do such work.
The attention to detail is stunningly beautiful!
