I'm thinking about putting a new Wilson springset in my 686. Anyone who done the same that can tell me how it will improve my DA/SA triggerpull and of course why I possibly shouldn't alter it. :)

Just putting in the light springs without being sure the action is properly deburred and slick leads to problems.
I have lightened springs in my competition revolvers, and it is easy to get a strike so light that only Federal primers work, or even too light for anything. I made extended strain screws from grade 8 capscrews (8-32) to achieve reliability.
With the frame mounted firing pins, I have had to keep the mainspring stronger than with the hammer mounted types. YMMV.

Hey I got one going in a 686 no dash...don't have it back yet so I can not answer your question but was wondering the same thing...I just got a 3" 65 and it uses the same spring kit...they only had one on the shelf though so I will wait and see

I have that setup in my 686-1. The trigger parts have been very lightly polished as it needed no stoning. The trigger pull is 8 1/2 pounds. I used the 16 pound rebound spring. You could go lighter on the rebound spring depending on your preferences. It is not 100% reliable except with Federal primered ammo. However it might be 90% with other primers.
I rarely shoot the gun as I prefer shorter barreled revolvers.

I got my 686 no dash back and it has the wilson mainspring in it now with the factory trigger spring in it still. I will report back after I get to the range and try out the trigger springs.I will switch them out at the range to see how lite I can go before I have ignition problems.I can not have lite strikes so 100% is a must. Trigger is nice already but can be improved .

The rebound spring has nothing to do with hammer fall. It controls the trigger return and affects the SA & DA pull weights. The mainspring and strain screw length control hammer fall.

so the 12lb spring can be used without fear of lite strikes? If so I may switch them out tonight.

Its not lite strikes you worry about with the rebound spring its poor resetting of the trigger. This would most likely show up during rapid pulling of the trigger, but not limited to rapid fire. You just don't know until you try it, but don't be fooled into thinking the lighter the trigger the better you shoot. It doesn't always work that way....
