You got that right. I pretty much make it my rule to stay at least ONE generation behind the latest MS OS (BS). I don't have any systems running anything newer than W7 and the laptop I'm typing on now is still running XP.I learned, after may years or being a technician ... I will NEVER upgrade to the newest operating system until it has been out there and working fine for 6 months to 1 year. Also, I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Why is Microsoft giving this OS away for free? One of the truths is that since Google has become the number 1 ranking exploitation master, seller and re-seller of personal surfing data (and much much more), Microsoft wants a bigger piece of that pie. In preparation for the Windows 10 upgrades, the past few months some of the updates were to add telemetry tracking logs as SCM logs to the earlier Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 operating systems. I'm holding tight with Windows 7 Professional. If it really starts to annoy me I think I will finally try a Linux system. Apple is just as bad tracking your surfing habits and using and / or selling leads to advertisers to customize the items that show up in the sidelines, offering you to purchase.
Anyone who uses any type of cloud or icloud to save personal data, business contacts and personal data should talk with a few security gurus who have no horse in the surf tracking, sales, advertising and data personal collection race, but only interest is your security and protection.
Cloud storage? FORGET IT. I don't store ANYTHING of value or consequence online. I don't do online backups either. The whole idea of SECURE storage over the internet is positively ludicrous IMO.
