wish me luck.

I have had this surgery, only advice I would give is take the pain meds as instructed by the Dr. I thought I could get by not taking them. That was a mistake.

Praying for successful surgery and speedy recovery [emoji120][emoji120][emoji175][emoji175]

I'm glad all went well. I just returned from my PCP after discussing a few overlapping issues. While there he said': "I've got a high dose flu shot with your name on it".

On my way out I stopped at the front nurses station and asked: "do you have an in-house therapist on duty?"

"Yes....why?"

"I just got a shot and the sucker dish is empty."

They gave me two SpongeBob band-aids.

I wuz robbed.

I had a right lower inguinal hernia repaired (the old way, with an incision) about 1982 or so - everything worked out fine, but the first week you should pay attention to all the cautions mentioned earlier in this thread so you don't inadvertently aggravate the repair or the incision. There are much slicker ways to deal with hernia repair today, but in 1982 it was just "cut and run". :(

I had that surgery with mesh 11 years ago. The first couple days were a bit rough but recovery was pretty quick.

Wishing you all the best. You should already be past the worst of it.

I had a hernia repair in November 2001. Regular incision plus the mesh. Everything was going well until New year's Eve. I was unloading horse feed from the back of the pick-up into the wheelbarrow when a sack slipped and I grabbed it. Bad move! Went to the doctor, who ordered an X-ray. Some of the mesh pulled loose, but not bad enough to undergo surgery again. That sucker hurt somewhat every day for at least ten years. I still get a twinge if I carry something that is too heavy.

I also had a small hernia next to my naval repaired at the same time. It hurts every now and then.

Remember, stay away from heavy loads and for goodness sake, DON'T TRY AND CATCH ANYTHING HEAVY THAT IS FALLING!!!

Any updates?
Sorry, I missed seeing post#27.
Glad all went well and you're on the mend.

Hanging like a mango. Just sore as hell. A little better everyday but taxing on other problems mentioned before.

And then there's the rampant incompetence that aggravates the hell out of me. When you question anything these days you get the blame game instead of just fixing the problem. Who told these dum basses they were so smart? The paper work tells the story. I'll spend half the day on the phone and the other half online when I'd rather be relaxing.
