Please do not turn this into politics, because this question isn't meant to.

I submitted a question to the White House today, asking what research, if any, was done before the EO was issued pertaining to bringing military arms back into the country. I would like to know if they know how many, if any (pretty sure none) have been used for crime, because it has been clearly stated that it is being put into place to keep "military grade" weapons off the streets.

I am a believer, user and follower of the CMP, which will be most certainly shut down if this is not over turned when the current administration leaves office.

I asked for a specific response into the research used, so that I could share with my fellow sportsmen. What do you think the response will be, standard form letter or something specific from one of the paid aids?

Worst case scenario, you will get an IRS audit next year, or start seeing black helicopters over your home.

I actually thought about that as I was typing, but hopefully my wording wasn't defensive in nature. I actually gave a little bit of a compliment in my opening sentence....

They probably already know more about me than the wife anyways, so like Hank Jr said in one of his songs, "if it will it will and if it won't it won't"

I'm betting you'll just get the canned, "Gun violence is bad, we're very concerned about gun violence. These are 'Military Grade' weapons we're blocking. Your opinions are very important, Vote for us next time." letter.

If there was any chance your calls/emails weren't being read they are now. (Honestly though, if you talk to someone whose privacy is already being violated, you are already on that list, so probably no change.)

You'll get a form letter and be put on the hidden list of extremists who believe in things like men being born with inalienable rights.

Of course you were on that list for posting on a gun forum already, so email away IMO. :)

Seriously, you'll get a form letter and be otherwise fine. Now if you were to go file to form a 501(c) non-profit to lobby about this issue....

FWIW I would love to have that data. Like you I would be surprised if a M1 Garand was ever used to hold up a liquor store or in a drive by shooting.

If you received, by some miracle or mistake, an honest answer it would state that the EO was issued as a first step in reducing the overall number of firearms available to the general population. More to follow.
