"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt" attributed to both Abraham Lincoln and Mark Twain. Not sure who to credit.
Proverbs 17:28 English Standard Version (ESV)
"Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise;
when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent."
So true. Reminded me of this quote from Sir Walter Scott and its un-dated addendum:Mom and Dad always said: If you always tell the truth, you avoid the trouble of keeping your lies straight.
Ivan
Or vice versa, which no doubt comes from drinking cheap whiskey.Life is to short to drink cheap whiskey or argue with fools.
