My cat Blue was acting poorly when I got home yesterday evening from a short time away during New Years. She has a cat door and has done fine with me going away for years. Anyhow took her to the Vet today. Vet said she was Jaundice, liver not working right. Possibly got into something and gave a huge list of stuff. I keep stuff like antifreeze, pesticides etc closed up, but, she roams the neighborhood a bit. Vet said its had to tell what or where or could be just plain old liver failure. Only hope is a IV of fluids to flush her out and she if she gets better. She is at the vets now. First 24 hours should tell if she is going to get better.

No idea how old she is found here down by the river begging for attention and food. Got some food and gave her some. When she was still there after a few days took her home. That was over 7 years ago. She has always been a great cat. If she gets worse they will call so I can comfort her. I hated to leave her there alone.

THIS SUCKS

Sorry to read this.

I had 5 cats and now just 4. I have no idea what happened to the other one.

They are feral cats and they wont let me close enough to touch them.I feed them twice a day and make arrangements for a friend to feed them when I'm gone.

If I go to the shop next door a couple of them are out there waiting for me and I can tell they're happy to see me.

I can whistle for them and they come - they think its feeding time. LOL

I live kind of in a remote area. We have big cats and coyotes here in the canyon. I'm actually guess maybe an owl got it.

Hope she heals fast and comes back home.

Never easy. I'm down to 1 cat now. Need another. My vet said they are pretty smart about not eating/drinking bad stuff. Hope she is OK. Prayers sent.

I do not get attached to animals.
But I recognize that many people do and that it is indeed hard for them when their animal is sick or hurting.
I feel for you and wish you good luck.

I sincerely hope it plays out well. We still tear up when we think our little buddy Fitzgerald, who we had to put down last year. Feline Leukemia (it's actually a virus, but the result and symptoms are the same)

He kept sneaking in every night to help himself to our cats's food, and eventually quit leaving.

I've been leaving random loaded ammo scattered around, but nothing shows up on my recliner in the morning. Must not be any stray pistols in my neighborhood.
