Would you buy a 686 with a half-lug and square butt?

If the folks at S&W could make a 4- or 6-inch 586 that looks like a slightly bigger Model 19, I would buy one. It would have to have a square-butt frame and six-round fluted cylinder... and red ramp/white outline sights... and nicely polished too... with decent looking rollmarks... and a two-piece box with upside-down label. :):o

If you want a great balancing .38/.357M with a 6" barrel, below is my new 9/03 6" 66-6 from CDNN, a steal even then at $349 as a new closeout - and it included a Redfield scope rail. My first '.357M' - still hasn't launched anything from a .357M case hotter than a .38. Well, S&W probably tested it with something. Oddly, before I shot it, I put the HiViz on it, resprung it, and put some new Ahrends grips on it. The next year, I saw - and had to have - the similar 5" h-l 686+!

Yeah, the 6" 66 is still fun. Those Remington R38S12 +P 158gr LHPSWCs make 995 fps from the 6" 66 - as do the harder leaded Georgia Arms equivalent loads. They are the hottest loads I've shot from it or the aforementioned 5" h-l 686+ - easy all day loads.
