You All Have Cost Me a Lot of $$$

The S&W K22 I purchased for the grandson started it all. Then the N frame flu started. It's a never ending story.

It's hard to lose value when buying S&Ws if you are reasonably astute with your shopping. Of course you never really "pay too much" you just "buy too soon" as prices always seem to catch up with purchases eventually. My modest accumulation of just over a dozen pieces has appreciated over the 30+ years since I bought the first one to the point where I can no longer think of the purchase price of most of them as being particularly significant, and even the most recent buys are worth more than what I paid for them, so I can just ignore cost and enjoy them. Glad there's no wife I have to convince of this, though! ;)

My wife is like " you bought another gun " .. I tell her, it's better then putting $ in the bank. It is a addiction, buying, selling, adding to the collection. It NEVER stops, atleast for me and my shooting buddies, always looking for the next one.

Have you started saving for your next one ? :-)

Your submission at the revolver altar will be complete once you look at your current guns as "swing out cylinder hand ejectors"

:D

Yeah, this place took me from 1 to 7 J frames and 0 to 3 K frames. Plus holsters for some of 'em. Plus a second Dillon Square Deal B to feed the 38s. I tried to be satisfied with my 9mm Glocks, but once I got started . . .

After joining the S&W forum in March, primarily as a pistol owner, I learned a lot about revolvers and how much fun they are to own and shoot. In fact, many of you cautioned me about getting the wheel-gun fever. Well, since then I've purchased a Model 10-14 and a Model 60-16 pro. Even though I'm very happy with those guns, I decided I needed more. So, as my fever peaked to a new high , I rounded out my holdings with a new Governor and a Model 627-5 (see below). I hope this will carry me to the end of the year!

Yes, hanging out on this forum on a boring weekend can certainly wet the appetite. I tend to go in cycles where I'll buy like crazy then go dormant. Then when you finally decide that enough is enough, then you'll start sending one out to be enhanced/customized. I still recall when I said to myself that all I need is just one handgun, okay maybe also one rifle. I keep trying to convince myself that my purchases are for my son as heirlooms because maybe when he finally gets interested, the cost or availability may be out of reach.

Seems like every day there's another relic revolver posted on one of the various websites, just asking for a new home. Then I realize we're simply custodians of these firearms that eventually end up back on the market ready for a new owner.
