You're sitting at home doing whatever it is you're doing right now. Suddenly you hear the sound of a window being smashed, or a door being busted in, or some other such sound.

What would you be armed with right now?

There's been so many serious threads lately and I just wanted to change pace a bit. So, what do you have? Right now wherever you are as you read through the forum.

Tonight, I'd have my Astra .44 Mag "Terminator" (currently loaded with specials) and my BG .380 which I had been carrying IWB today.

Right now I would respond with my pistol gripped mossberg 500 loaded with buck shot. If it happened in about an hour the Mrs. would deploy her Glock 23 (I know I said the G word but she picked it bought it and shoots it well) loaded with 165 grain Winchester Ranger sxt. I've come to sleep a lot easy and sounder since I married her.

I would retreat in fear and hide in a closet, and hope that I had my cell phone and that it was charged and had a signal.

My family would be cowering with me by the way.

I would call the police who would arrive within moments, quell the threat and allow me to get back to listening to NPR or perhaps sorting my recycling.

I certainly would not try to defend myself or my family with violence! That would not be civilized. We pay people to protect us, and the government always knows best, right?

If I treat everyone around me with kindness there is no way anything bad could happen to me or my family, people are basically all good at heart.

Don't you all agree?

Guns, who needs them in the new world order!!!

Before I hear a window smashing or a door busted in, one of my outside perimeter alarms would go off. No matter which side of my home a potential intruder might choose, I'll know long before he gets close to a window or door. So, the perp would enter the window or door and come face to bullet with a 9mm round or three heading his way. I always carry my Sigma on my person even at home...and despite all of the negative comments about that weapon, I can place several rounds center mass each and every time. And it always goes bang when I pull the trigger...

Very nice! I need to look into perimeter alarms again. I had one a few years back on my driveway but got rid of it after my sister knocked on my door without triggering the alarm.

While that is admirable to a point, there is still room for growth. A truly civilized person wold make tea and sit and chat with the misdirected youth(s).

Well right here right now I have a Colt Trooper loaded with six rounds of .357 Silvertip 145 gr. HP in my right hand desk drawer. There are other tricks around the house, but I'll keep those secret.

Right now I would reach into my sweatshirt pocket and deploy a S&W M&P j frame revolver loaded with Speer .38 +p.

Whw

I would call 911 on my Obama phone and wait for whom ever on the other line tell me to stay calm and stay on the line. I imagine the cops "should" arrive in ten or so minutes. I may or may not be alive at that time to make a report and let them know what I no longer have. I would probably need to seek medical attention.

Oh wait...this 'Merica!!!

686-4 with .38 holler points ready for action!

God bless us all, our country, and our 2nd amendment!

Have my .40 FS M&P packed to the gills with Speer Gold Dot, all on my hip sitting next to the fire. Oh and of course it's got one of those horrible high capacity 'clips'.

Bad guy ain't getting into my house either way. ;)

But IF he did, while my little pooch bit at his ankles............

You must live here in CA with me!!! The police are only minutes away after you have a chance to speak to the 911 operator who has put you on hold for 15 minutes. It's OK though because the intruder has agreed to wait.

"Right Now" would be at my computer desk. My M&P40C is less than
an arms reach away. 147gr JHP X 10.

Normally I'd have my Model 67 there, but my 89 year old dad did not feel comfortable with his Glock 23 anymore, but still wanted a HD gun. I traded him my M-67. I did not want a loaded Glockomactic loose in my drawer, so I put it in the safe and replaced the Combat Masterpiece with the Trooper.

The dogs receive treats for alerting us to everyone approaching the home, and never miss an opportunity.

By the time the door is kicked in, the dogs are in full greeting mode and Mrs Pooh is behind cover with her Colt 45 or the M1 Carbine at the ready. I am cowering behind her skirts, trying to remember the phone number for 911. I might also have a 5906 full of Gold Dot 124+Ps in my hand... ;)
