You just heard a window smash...

Someone forcing entry to my home will find me braced in the door to my daughter's bedroom, where she and my wife will be hunkered down. If my shouted warning gets to them before the 124g Critical defense rounds I sent behind it, at least I can say I tried....

My Navy Seal knife. If that didn't work and I had time (would look at my Navy Seal watch) I would have to get out my Navy Seal Sig Sauer.
Usually I put some Navy Seal Frog Lube on the windowsill. That way they would slip on the way in and hit their head on my Seal treadmill. If all else fails, time for my Seal Tactical Tomahawk.

Well im reading this a day late so im at work and my G19 is on my hip with 16 rounds of Ranger 124gr +p.

But if im at home.....i'd have to quickly run to the bedroom to grab the same G19. Bedroom is on 3rd floor so unless "they" pull up with a construction van and ladders they can only go through the basement or front door. Either way im much much closer to the steps.

I do not carry at home for the same reason i dont wear work clothes at home. I want to be comfortable. Normally i sit around in sweats or shorts and a tshirt.

Any intruder would have to get through my vicious attack poodle. He is 20 lbs of pure terror, and we have tactical furniture placed throughout the house so no matter where you're standing he can get to your throat.

Let me think back to last night.....oh, yeah, it would have been my 19 with Critical Defense rounds, along with the mighty Chalupa (our chihuahua) and Missy (our dachshund)......probably would have gotten a beer bottle thrown their direction also....empty of course (hate to waste good beer)!

start a fire (after grabbing my fiance). lock all the doors, bar up the window he broke. and sit outside smoking a cigar waiting to collect insurance money and listening to the mischievous ******* burn to death. and then i would move someplace nice and retire early.

Long before anyone gets near my place my dog will become completely unglued. Then I won't hear the window smash, I will see it, small house. lol. After that I am not at liberty to discuss internal security systems.

Ok--I am sitting here watching Tv--I hear a window smash/break--I grab my two little Bisons and run to the closet and lock us inside. I then yell for my wife to go investigate the noise. I then call "911" on my cell phone. I hear my wife yelling, "Its Brad Pitt, don't worry, I'll take care of him"! I then hear a man's voice yelling "HELP, HELP ! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, someone"CALL 911"! Then I hear my wife saying " Brad, Honey, you know you can ring the door bell next time. and then, "JIMMY, Cancell 911.

I want some of whatever it is you smoke.... :D

I'm in the office, which is on the north end of the house. I am carrying a Shield 9, but would grab the 4513 that is 4 feet from me on the safe on my way to the door. I would also grab the M&P22 in my desk drawer and throw it to my son so he is protected in case I don't do so well (he's home sick watching TV in the living room). If it were a normal no-kids-home-day I'd stay in my office and wait.

With any luck the Meth Lab (see my icon picture) would be barking and possibly licking the intruder to death. Death by dog slobber....

I never thought of dialing 911, but I guess if it was a lower level break in, I would have plenty of time to hit speaker-phone and dial 911 and run out of the office. That would alert the local sheriff department and possibly record any happenings. That's a great idea GianniG83!!

Great replies so far!

I just got home and was carrying my .40 Shield today, so that's what I'll be toting tonight.

But I'm also keeping my dachshund / beagle defense dog close by.... She's eagerly awaiting the return of my wife so she's extra alert.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1358286289.526989.jpg

Nice to hear the serious stuff like the 1911 and the Astra and the Model 10 with +P.

Backups in the safe barely count, but I'll tell the truth that right now I have a 342PD with 5 158gr Nyclad +P rounds in my pocket. Also 2 speedloaders with wadcutters and a speed strip with 6 more Nyclads.

Almost as often I have a 2" Model 15 with Nyclads.

40c always with or right next to me. He would wish he picked another house.

M&P 40FS laying next to the computer I am currently typing this message with, that's if the bad man can get past Walker Texas Ranger my German Shepherd Dog

I do not own a gun yet so from where I am right now sitting sideways on the sectional:
The apartment alarm would go off and call the cops, close to me is a drill with a 1/4 bit in it so the attacker might get drilled. There is also a can of wd40 next to the drill. Right now it is all I have.

wd40 is that a 40 caliber and does smith and Wesson make it.
