I think they are only shutting down certain instructional video's they deem dangerous and politically incorrect.....such as how to attach and fire a AR-15 from a drone or how to turn your semi-auto into a full auto or how to modify your glock 19 to accept a 10000 round ammo belt....etc...etc...etc....

From what I can see most all other gun related channel's are up and running normally with no censorship that I can determine.

I saw that they were prohibiting some gun-related videos but it was unclear what they were. I checked and saw some gun videos still up.

"I think they are only shutting down certain instructional video's they deem dangerous and politically incorrect."
I wonder what their criteria might be and who at YouTube will draw the line as to what is considered "dangerous and politically incorrect." Sounds like the YouTube Thought Police to me.

It's the "YouTube Golden Rule"....whoever at YouTube that controls all the gold makes all the rules....same as everywhere else.

the biggest issue is demonetization of vids on subjects they don't agree with.
there used to be some money to be made off of the ads that plague most videos. it's a principal that has kept several offering content for us to watch.
but, like Ebay, Youtube got political, greedy, and overbearing.
look to see less and less gun related stuff as time goes on. the funding is gone.

They are owned by Google, so what do you expect? Since Google bought them out, they have slowly gained more and more vacuum and now I think they suck so bad you could use them to evacuate your car's AC system before recharging it.

That's it. They're demonetizing videos that they consider as not being "advertiser friendly."
It's not just the gun channels either. There's lotsa YouTubers losing their behind. Channels that usta be "edgy" or "shocking" are getting demonetized.
A lot of them are going to Patreon to make money for their YouTube videos. Their followers donate to keep their channel alive.

Youtube is anti gun. Google is anti gun. Youtube and Google are FOR profit businesses. They can do what ever they want ESPECIALLY since they are very "Liberal" & the Lib's have most of the judges in their pockets. Youtube / Google are NOT helping the gun owners - make NO MISTAKE! If we do not organize soon, they win. I hate to be a "Negative Nancy" but that is how I see it.

AND....... this is with a PRO GUN President! Just wait until we get an Anti in office!!!

I keep hearing the stories but nothing yet. My Youtube page is littered with gun related stuff. They must be profiling me.

I usually watch utube instructional videos. Some of the "how to's" are right on target with what I want to do. If you think there's a particular video you may want to refer to in the future, Firefox has add ons that you can use to download utube videos and save them to file on your PC for future use. I'm sure all the major browsers have similar stuff.

From what I can see the standard gun safety, how to strip, shooting a particular gun etc videos will be unaffected. But those that promote bump stocks, illegal modifications (turn your M4 into a select/fully auto fire AR15 and get around the machine gun ban), becoming an active shooter, I hate XXXX and have an arsenal to get back at them etc will be deleted.

Censorship of free speech? Definitely.

Pandering to PC? Maybe.

They censored that girls videos about being a vegetarian. It's what caused her to go on a rampage.

There's another thread about this from almost a month ago.

A topic has been repeated on the internet??

I started shooting 1911's about three years ago. At the time I had no idea how to take them down or repair them.

I went to YouTube and learnt ow to strip my 1911's right down and put them back together again. Late last year I used YouTube to tech myself how to do a trigger job both on my 1911's and my Italian single action revolvers.

Today I had a magazine that would not activate the slide lock. I knew that there was a part of the magazine I could tweek to correct it but did not know what it was, so I hit YouTube. After sorting my problem out I began to look at all of the recommended video's that followed the one I originally needed. Somehow I found myself looking at video's made by people who clearly have an axe to grind with law enforcement and advocate non-compliance when stopped for driving matters. One video even advocated following a police car around filming them stopping and interacting with drivers.

I know that freedom of speech gives them the right to says these things, but so many of them are wrong in law. If stopped by a cop driving there are certain things that a driver must do regardless of what country you are in. Refuse to do so and the cuffs will come out.

No wonder I have someone every week tell me something about my job that I know is totally false.

If that's the case....

If they use discretion and weed out people that are acting dangerously, I don't mind. I saw a video where two guys were showing their 'gun culture' and at the beginning I immediately thought, "That one is trouble" from the way he was handling the gun. He ended up shooting his partner, fortunately, in the leg. I know these things are 'jokey' but I don't think people acting stupidly dangerous is funny.

The word is that they are going to remove a lot of gun material. This I disagree with, especially instructional videos that has become an important resource for demonstrating how to perform assembly/disassmbly and repair of firearms.

However, if they take away all of the gun videos, especially the ones where people are safely demonstrating shooting and operation a weapon, they are the enemy.
