We had a couple of nice burgers after an appetizer of fried Calamari, wife had roasted brussels sprouts, I opted for a nice Caeser salad. Home by 4:30, I'll sleep through the festivities.
Last meal of the year. You know, I didn't really think of it that way.
Had shrimp cocktails, Maple grilled Salmon, Spaghetti with my home-made cherry tomato sauce, garlic bread and a couple glasses of wine, Chardonay and Fortissimo. No dessert.
We went over my stepsons with 6 adults and 2 grandbabies .
My stepson went all out we had baked lobster with crabmeat stuffing shrimp cocktail corn on the cob and a Fetta pasta salad and apple pie alamode . Some had a IPA or white wine but as I was driving I only had Coca-Cola.
The best thing was I was told next August we will be having another grand baby. They are hoping for it to arrive on my Daughter-in-laws birthday. This will be our 4th grandchild .
At a local cafe:
Chicken fried steak, mashed spuds, milk gravy and
Pinto beans. Preceded by a nice green salad.
Then brought home a bread pudding for later.
Low cal all the way.
Center cut pork chops broiled, air fried potatoes, stir fried broccoli w mushrooms and riced cauliflower. Brains fall out good. Don't know if I'll make the ball drop. Joe
Same meal every New Years Eve, spaghetti and meatballs at the Baltimore Grill in Atlantic City. My parents took me there for dinner on New Years when I was a year old in 1975, and we went every year thereafter. I've never missed a single New Years dinner at the Baltimore Grill, although now I'm the one paying the check.
Tell ya, there is some good eating today whether major meals or simple ones. Glad the wife is retired, the chicken normally would have been a Sunday meal. Looks like i will make it to midnight, Larry
