Forget Glocks. Too bulky. For my money, I like the Smith 3913. Slim, totally reliable and accurate. Many knowledgeable people call it the best pistol S&W has ever made.

Here's mine, a 3913NL with tritium sights. I can even wear it using a "Thunderwear" holster with dress slacks, and it doesn't print.

What's your choice, if limited to a 9mm?

The MP9c works for me, usually in my DeSantis (S&W), OWB with a shirt hanging over.

Paladin, My new favorite 9mm CCW is my 3913NL, just like yours. However I just ordered a set of black grips from S&W for mine. Just not crazy about the grey or the hogue they came with.

I don't have one, but a P7M8 would be right at the top of my list if I were to carry a 9mm.

I carry either my s&w 940 (9mm centennial j-frame) or my kahr k9. I love em both, but the k9 is one of the easiest to shoot compact nines out there.

No question about it, Browning Hi Power!
That's my favorite 9mm of all time..but our dept. doesn't allow single actions....and if I didn't have the P7, the 3913 would be my next choice...I've thought of switching to the lighter 3913 but I have too much expensive leather for the P7 and I don't want to wait 2 years for new Del Fatti rigs...:)

Kahr P9 Covert or a customized BHP are my favorites for concealed carry and the Beretta 92 or S&W M&P for open carry. If I could only have one, it would be the Kahr. I think its the most size efficient pistol for the 9mm cartridge. Mine has been 100% reliable and is easy to carry and conceal.

The best auto-loader S&W has ever made? Isn't that like saying "the best team the Detroit Lions have ever fielded??" :D

I am obsessed with S&W revolvers but I dare say their auto-loaders have never impressed me. The M&Ps are pretty cool, but they still haven't been around long enough for me to render a judgment.

Thick, ugly, call it what you will--the Glock 19 is arguably the best pistol ever made, 9mm or otherwise.

After that, in 9mm, the Browning Hi-Power, then the CZ-75.

If we're talking about revolvers, of course it's S&W all the way.

No question about thick and ugly but the best pistol ever made??????????

My vote goes to HK USP 9mm when carrying a 9mm, but for me a single stack 1911 pistol in .45 ACP is my go to gun........

Kahr E9. The 39 would be a good choice but I have to get some of the bugs out of mine before it gets hung in a holster.

To be honest, I'm not too fond of any of the S&W auto loaders. I am a huge wheel gun fanatic but just because I love one product line of a company doesn't mean its going to cloud my judgement. With some of the S&W 1911's being the only exception, I think most the auto loaders S&W makes are plain ugly. The M&P series of polymer guns are extremely reliable, but so are Glocks, H&K, Kahr and many other brands that didn't wait up until now to start producing them. The M&P autoloaders are not exactly a stunning breakthrough in technology, its based on similar concepts of the Kahr and Glock. If I was to buy an autoloader, why would I buy one from S&W when I could buy a Glock that has all of the bugs worked out and has a HUGE variety of aftermarket parts??
