I have a CZ 455 American Combo rifle with 2 barrels. It has a 22LR barrel and a 17 HMR barrel. The rifle is very well made and it is very accurate. I really like the rifle and it's a fun rifle at the range and a change from the semi auto 22LR rifles.

CZ makes some great rimfire rifles.... .22lr,.22 magnum and .17hmr. Best bang for the buck going IMO

I have several of the older 452 models and a 453 w/ single set trigger.... may favorites are the FS/mannlicher stocked models.

Fyimo..... check out the 527 models mid size action rifles in 7.62x39 and .223/5.56

I used to have a beautiful Ruger 77/22 that I really liked, but the CZ is certainly a nice rifle. A lot of people knock the 77/22, but I never had a problem killing squirrels with mine. It had a "made in Japan" Tasco 2X7 scope on it.

Beautiful rifle. The CZ rifles are highly rated.

Alas, the only bolt action .22 that I have is an old Marlin model 80 DL that I gave either $15.00 or $25.00 for, about 50 years ago. It shoots much straighter than I can hold.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

I'm always a little stunned when I read about a person who likes to shoot, but doesn't own a .22. I learned to shoot on a very old .22 Winchester .22 single-shot that belonged to my great-grandfather, and still love them. Here's just a few:

The father of CZ .22's, a BRNO (#5 in this case):

CZ 452 - see the DNA?:

Old single-shot target .22's like this Anschutz 54 are fun, but only from the bench in my dotage:

What I really love most is offhand plinking with my Remington 511, and this Winchester 69A:

I've wasted enough bandwidth. :)

Years ago, thirty or more, I paid $80 for a Norinco bolt action, a Mauser copy with military-style stock, for my son. It appeared to be a training rifle. Finish wasn't great, but the action was very smooth and the trigger wasn't bad.

My son still has it. He says it's a tack driver. He and his boys still shoot it, when they aren't shooting my beloved Marlin 39A.

I have a Kimber of Oregon 82 Varminter #33 of the original 250. The bull, Stainless, fluted barrel is just perfect for those pests around the yard and woods. 4 shot mag is flush with the walnut oiled stock, I have one of the few 10 round mags also and a spare 4 round. Now that I'm older, I took the 2-7x32 Leupold Rimfire Special off, and replaced it with a Veri-x III 4.5-14 x40 AO. When I was zeroing the new scope at 25 yards, I put 10 shots in the same hole.....Offhand! #2 son was just out of the Marines, he thought that was good shooting.

My brother has the same basic rifle by Kimber of America. Both shoot great, but I think mine is better looking! (and the mags don't interchange!)

I have a pair of M1965 Rumanian training rifles. 5 shot mag, chrome lined barrel, express sights for 25/50/100 meters, and a very poor two stage trigger! The are Minute Of Groundhog @ 100 yards, maybe a little better. They have 13mm grooved receiver for scoping. You will need the rings like an Anschutz.

They where $66.00 in the 90's when they came on the market, now they are $200+. I bought a spare mag each at $5 each.

Still have the Remington 511-X Scoremaster my Dad got me for my 10th Christmas in 1963.................Finally got a new scope a couple of years ago ... to replace the 1960s 3/4" Tasco.

My "walk in Penn's Woods" rifle these days is a CZ452/FS/mannlicher in .22 magnum with a 1-4x20 Leupold scope....sweetest little +100yd varmint gun going!!!!!!!!!

browning t-bolt

My favorite 22 rifle is a vintage browning t-bolt I bought new in '67 at the base exchange in Bremerton WA. Shoots a quarter sized group off the bench with a 4x scope and cci std lr. I prefer to shoot it with the factory peep while standing on my hind legs like a man. However that does teach me some humility.

I too am a fan of 22 bolt actions. Two of mine have already been mentioned...a CZ 452 and an old Browning T-Bolt. My third, which shoots right in there with the CZ is a Marlin 880 SQ.
