Glock Totally Unacceptable Quality Control

It looks worn. That raises questions about the rest of the pistol. If you like the model I'd ask for a replacement. If they won't go for that, tell them you'll take their check.

TO BE HONEST, THIS IS THE FIRST COMPLAINT THAT I HAVE EVER READ ABOUT A GLOCK PISTOL. THAT'S EXACTLY WHY YOUR THREAD CAUGHT MY EYE.....

I HAVE NO ATTRACTION TO GLOCK PISTOLS, DESPITE THEIR POPULARITY. I MUCH PREFER THE AESTHETICS OF MY STEEL AND WOOD, COLT 1911, GOLD CUP, NATIONAL MATCH SEMI-AUTOS, IN .45 ACP, PERSONALIZED WITH FOWARD SLIDE SERRATIONS, AND SOME CUSTOM PARTS FROM WILSON COMBAT......

THAT BEING SAID, I MUST AGREE WITH BRB'S ASSESSMENT. I WOULD ALSO ASK FOR A REPLACEMENT.....

I wonder what happens to their gun show demos?

Maybe it got rub marks from riding around in too many brown trucks?

The seller is the one I'd want satisfaction from. He'll just use his felt pen and put it back on the shelf anyway.

The left handed slide stop was mistakenly thrown in the right hand lever bin, picked up by the assembly monkeys and thrown back into the right handed parts bin several hundred times until someone placed it in the proper bin...

Being an armorer; I would think you'd have it fixed before the weekend is up. Or pretend it's had a couple hundred rounds through it. Plus it won't bother you near as bad when sober today.

LOL: a fellow machinist barely nicked the frame of a 100,000$ black anodized aluminum aerospace part while performing the finish machining. Instead of reporting it and taking his licks he covered it with a black sharpie.....LOL again. Of course it came clean during its final cleaning and was caught in final inspection; his next job was a machining instructor in Mexico. He had the last laugh when we found out his salary for teaching upcoming Mexican machinists. Some people fall in a bucket of........and come out; well you know!

Condition of OP slide-release not withstanding, I absolutely detest the "new" ambi slide release. Regardless of R or L hand, you'll always have a new, bigger lever hanging off of your Glock.

When he posted Glock 45, he meant the new model. This model is basically a 19X in black. Some posters thought it was a 45 caliber Glock. Either way I would take it back to the seller. But I am guessing they or Glock will do nothing about it.

If it bothers you that much, have the slide stop replaced. If there are any GSS events near you, I bet they would replace it for free.

Sounds to me like Muss Muggins is having a little fun with us. "Who do I sue?" over a little surface wear on a small part. Hard to believe that a man of Muss's experience would make such a big deal out of something like this. A call to Glock would probably result in a new part sent out immediately, maybe even a few promo items thrown in.

Best regards.

Picked this up today. Blue Label Glock 45. The right side slide stop lever is degraded. Calling Glock tomorrow. Do I ask for a full refund or a new pistol . . . ?

Well, Muss... errrr... Mr. Muggins. :D Your first mistake was buying a Glock. As far as that totally trashed and worn out slide stop lever is concerned, perhaps Glock is recycling parts from old, trade in pistols, not just because they are cheaping out, but because they are going green and are into the recycling gig. :p

LE package pistol, lower price and included two spare mags. You had to show credentials to purchase these guns. The labels were blue.

Nice program, but Glock is not losing a nickel on these deals. FFL dealer scans credentials, reports to Glock that the pistol was sold for law enforcement use, Glock gets to save the 11% Federal Excise Tax assessed on sporting goods (firearms, ammunition, fishing tackle, etc).

Any gun maker could do the same thing, but most require a signed statement attesting to the fact that the purchaser is a LEO and authorized to purchase the gun, then they ship direct to the agency for individual delivery. Glock appears to have streamlined the process and made it easier on everyone involved.

I have watched several YouTube reviews of the new model Glocks and I do recall in multiple videos them discussing the thinness of finish on the slide stop/release and how quickly it appeared to wear. Perhaps this is an ongoing issue and this example was just handled enough at the LGS, shipping and laying around to create the wear. I believe I read someone else referenced the thinness on this thread so I'm being led to believe it is of concern if the aesthetics of a Glock worry you. I do know I've never had that wear show up on my gen 4's or 3's.
