M&P 15-22 Results, Post 'em here. I got Mine!!

That's terrible news about the few faulty ones but I'm sure the percentage rate is small on failures.

I still have yet to get one but I'm in no rush.

I have a charger, 10/22, and a Mark III so I have plenty of .22's but man, do I want an AR type gun.

Never owned one before but do plan on purchasing the Ruger SR-556 next year.

15-22 comes first.

Have about 7k rounds of federal bulk to shoot through it when it gets here.

My two extra mags come in Wednesday as well.

Should be all set for when the gun arrives.

Take care

i was lookin at some vids on Youtube, i didnt watch them yet, cause i have dailup, but i read some comments, looks like most are happy, but i did see atleast one that had the same issues with jamming etc. I sure miss my gun, but i hope it comes back, or they send me a new one, that works flawlessy, and i can have some fun.

I'm sure S&W will expedite your repair because this is a new, hot item.

I purchased a new S&W500 several years ago and noticed a slightly bent rear sight. Took it back to my dealer and he had it back in 7 days including intransit. Make sure your dealer has a tracking number and follows up with S&W.

7K rounds of Federal bulk? No wonder I can't find any. :p

All you need now is the 15-22 and you will be good to go. :D

Cant wait to get mine back, and i sure hope it works right when i do, im already for some shooting!!!! I went to the local walmart today, and picked up a 550rd bulk pack of Federal .22lr HP.

Talked to Academy today, and the manager gave me the UPS tracking number for it, said he was taking it to UPS himself, and that he was going to talk to his buyers that buys there guns from S&W, and they where gonna see if they could put a push on my gun, get it back to me faster, i had called S&W this morning and they said once they get it, they try to get them in and out within 10 days.

Mine was jamming the non plated bullets on the feed ramp complete with bent bullet and dented case. Polished up the feed ramp with flitz and one sore finger tip later no more jamming!

well, maybe they'll fix mine, and it'll work as it should have in the first place, you buy a gun, you shouldnt have to do stuff like Polish this or that, should shoot right the first time. I had several of the bent bullets with mine.

I agree, the gun should work out of the box. But reading on other forums, the Colt and even the dedicated uppers all seem to benefit from polishing the ramp area.

Yeah, I horded Wal-Marts several times on a weekly basis to get .22lr ammo
Got about 6k of it for 13.47, and the other 1k for 15.47 because it went up 2 bucks.

Got lucky, kind of sucks that most federal ammo has seen a price hike of $2 in the past couple of months at Wally World.

yeah, i paid 15.47 or so for the Federal 550 pack today. More than i was expecting ,but owell, from what ive read, its good stuff.

At the moment I am unable to make a comparison. My 15-22 and the mag are at the local store awaiting repair parts for the gun. :(

When the repair is complete and I have the gun back, I will look at the OE mag and compare with the ones I received last week from S&W. I'll post more info then.

Thanks, hope you get it back soon. I can kinda answer my own question now. The extra (3) mags I ordered finally arrived today, took 20 days total. I was hoping quality wouldn't slip because of all the back-orders. I really can't tell the difference between them and the original.

I got the two mags last week that I ordered two weeks prior. They look identical to the one that came with my rifle. Overall I think they are very solid, easily loaded, and of good quality. Best of all, they are only $20! This is much better than the $35-$39 per mag that I spent on the Colt M4-22 that I used to own.

You're right about the prices. I was a little surprised they didn't charge more. Maybe S-W figured out that a happy customer is more likely to be a return customer. Many companies overcharge when they're the only game in town. They could probably have sold a bunch of these at $30 or more. I'm glad they did the right thing.

I agree with you. I've been very pleased with S&W's recent product releases, and especially this rifle. That kind of attention to customer requirements, price points, and their stellar customer service all help to keep me in their camp. Umarex kept providing good service to the folks who bought the Colt M4-22, but the myriad of product issues was of great concern. Also, how long would Umarex keep up this level of service? I didn't want to gamble with that. With S&W, it's been second nature to them. They have set the industry standard of what customer service should be, IMHO.

Doesn't Umarex only warranty the Colt M4-22 for a year, while S&W has a lifetime warranty on the S&W 15-22?

I didnt know what the warranty was on my 15-22, is it really a lifetime warranty?

I believe that is correct. Although I don't have it with me right now, I believe the S&W manual only states 1 year, but they have been notorious for standing behind their products for the life of them. Not too many firearms vendors do that. Technically, Umarex isn't even Colt, and yet a third party, Walther, was the manufacturer of the Colt .22 cal. AR clones. After a while, all of that gets rather convoluted. With the S&W M&P15-22, it's all quite straight-forward, AND made in America.
