What has happened to our member, and great grip maker Kurac? I have one set of his great grips on a mod 27, and think that they are some of the best grips that I have ever seen. Where has he gone? I have not seen one of his posts or adds for his grips for some time.

He's been here. I have seen several of his post in either the reloading forum, or the gunsmithing forum in the last week or two.:)

Kurac's around. I just bought a phenominal set of grips from him for my 625 JM. IMO he makes the most comfortable wooden grips out there.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I am alive and well but have not made any grips in a few months.

Kurac Grips

Please post photographs of some of your past work. Some of us would enjoy seeing what others speak so highly about. Thanks.

A set of Kurac's grips on a Model 28. The grips are mahogany and are from wood from old bridge wing railings from USS Koelsch. Probably the largest piece of the ship still in existence. The 28 is a veteran of several deployments in the old days.

so, is this not making grips thing going to permanent? have been admiring your work but haven't made the jump yet. but, i am getting ready and the long winter is just around the corner. are you taking orders for grips at this time? enquiring minds need to know!!

Here's a shot that shows the famous Kurac "coke" palm swell. These are also Coco Bolo.

My wife bugs me pretty often to see what Kurac's offering lately. There are a number of grips we have lost out on (from being slow) and she's not happy about it. She's really in love with the Birdseye maple, but she wants it for her K & L frames.

I have a pre model 29 with incorrect grips that could really use something purty......

He makes them for K frames but not as often as N frame and as you know he occasionally places ads in the form and they sell quickly. You can also send John a PM and ask if him can make you a set and include what type of wood and whether you want medallions and if it's for an N or K frame he will respond to you as he's a great guy.
