Just picked up a M&P 15-22 (problems and fixes)

I bought my new 15-22 today. Opened the box, took it to the range and put 300 rounds through it without any issues. (I just dislike the fact it has a 10 round magazine). Sorry you guys had problems with your 15-22s.

Hello, bought a new 15-22 on 3/12, and it's operation has been flawless. Seems to do fine with even the cheap stuff from Walmart. One question - I'm finding that the stock seems to be kinda loose. It stays put where it's set, but is loose enough to rattle. Anybody out there with an moe model that can verify this experience? I know there are two sizes of buffer tube, and that the faux buffer tube on the 15-22 is mil spec. I'm thinking I may have received the unit with a commercial size butt stock. Just a question. I can call S&W, but thought I'd check here first.

Welcome to the forum. The stock is very loose out of the box...some people were using tape as a shim to tighten them up a bit. IIRC it was a metal-type tape commonly used in HVAC applications. Mine rattled enough to drive me nuts heh

Bought a new old stock 2009 model. The ejector was bent way down. I pulled it back up and it snapped off. Off to the service center for repair.
