I Just Picked Up a CTG!

From my extensive research on the CTG, I've come to realize that the crack of which you speak, is on most all of the "post", "pre" CTG's and is normal. I say most because w/ S&W's sometimes you just don't know what they did on purpose, or by accident, to confuse us some years later.

I bought me one of those CTG guns at the last gun show. The fella behind the table said it was a rare gun that only took ammo sold by Cartridges To Go and wouldn't take any other kinda ammo. Anybody got the address of that company so I can order me some shootin' ammo?

Does anyone else have CTGs with cracks in em? I have a few CTGs and ALL have a long crack on the right side that starts near the trigger and ends up near where the hammer strikes. Is this normal? Should I return em to S&W to get the cracks welded? And are they safe to shoot CTGs?

JBWeld. y bother S&W, and ya cun save de frate.

Darn Mule 88 I was hopeing I would have first shot at buying it. I'm sure if you use JB Weld and then sand the frame real good you will never see the crack.

These ain't CTGs:
This is a hull:

Huh--all those dinky CTGs, I got a DA, size 45 at that!!

I heard a guy ask where he could find .38 S&W Special CTG ammo now since all he saw anywhere was .38 Special or .38 S&W Special. The gun store owner nicely explained the CTG is an abbreviation for cartridge.

Why on Earth do supposedly educated adults find it impossible to decipher CTG as an abbreviation??

OH, Wow, shut the front door! My revolver has CTG on the barrel!!! It must be ultra super rare! Dolts...

...CTG obviously stands for Carriage Transfer Gun and was kept by females (wimmen) in their handwarmers (muffs) for their protection on the long rides home in the carriage after their indescretions with the wealthy landowners (who could therefore afford to send for a carriage) of the Eastern SeaBoard in the late 19th century. If the gentleman refused the going rate the ...err...lady...would transfer the bullit from the CTG to the astonished gentleman's vitals, whilst skipping out the other side of the carriage and leaving the anguished gentleman to explain his wounds to his wife, the carriage master, or the Arch Angel Gabriel depending on his luck.

Me, I jes like to scratch my back with the front sight on mine...

The Army used to issue me lots of CTGs, to include these (my favorites):

Now I just buy my own, but it's okay, they're a lot smaller.

They also gave you a way cool holster, that carried you and your friends to the range along with the boolits and shooter!

Bahhhhh...You guys think you all got something special with your "CTG's" and such.

I GOT YOU ALL BEAT!!

At the last gun show I went to, I had an old man in a raincoat "Psssstttt" me over to him. He told me he had something special to show me. I was kinda worried at this point, but the old man pulled a handgun out from under that raincoat. Man what a beauty. He told me it was a very rare and historical gun.

Turns out his grandpappy had fought in the war, and took it from a Nazi general he captured. The guys name was Flooring, or Boring...something like that. One of them German names anyway. It was the very Glock that Hitler used to shoot himself.

WOW! I was impressed. It looked to be brand new. The old man told me that Hitler used several new guns to shoot himself. Sort of like the President uses a bunch of pens to sign a law. Made sense to me.

I asked him if he wanted to sell it. He said he hated to, but his Momma needed a new pair of shoes to wear when she died, or she couldn't get into heaven. Plus he needed food for his 12 kids, and newborn puppy. He said the gun was worth a million dollars, but since I looked like a nice fellow, he's let me have it for $1,000.00. I knew he was trying to cheat me, so I offered $1025. He agreed to take it, because he'd have to pay the tax on the income. Well, let me tell you, I couldn't get my money out fast enough. I made him give me a bill of sale, because I didn't want anybody to come back to me and say I shot Hitler.

Now unlike most of you guys, I have a high quality picture of this one of a kind (well except for the others) gun. Na...Na...Na...na...na......

I would never buy a CTG unless the letter was with it.

BTW- Is a pre-ban CTG worth more than a post-ban CTG?

Coolest 30 ton holster you ever saw. My friends had lotsa' little CTGs too.
