If you own a firearm or understand their need you should be a member!
Just joined again monday morning, used the link on Shooting USA's website for the $10 discount.
I'm thinking of letting my membership lapse. Can't justify Wayne LaPierre being paid $1.5 million a year. For what? He's the face of the NRA and not a very effective spokesman. Surely, the money could be spent much better on a public relations/ad campaign to persuade people that self-defense is one of the pillars of American freedom.
I thought Chuck Heston (RIP) was a fine rep for the NRA. LaPierre comes across as way too didactic.I considered this also; however, I don't see a "Plan B" in the future. What I do see, and I believe it will be this year, is a change of leadership in the NRA and, with it, better PR.

di·dac·tic (d-dktk) also di·dac·ti·cal (-t-kl)Well I don't know what didactic is but I realize Wayne may not be the best public speaker. I DO KNOW that the NRA is the best thing we have going to retain our gun rights.
And we need to FULLY SUPPORT the NRA............

Boys, dissin Wayne at this time is like gripin about the life ring they just threw you, after two days adrift, is the wrong color and chipped. Come on. The focus is on the issues not the oration skills of a single person. "Divide and conquer" is not that hard to understand.
