NRA membership?

Everyone needs to constantly harass all you congressmen, senators, and the president.

I have been calling and emailing them all, EVERY DAY!

I really would like to send a nasty nasty nasty email to Senator Feinstein, but would it even do any good? This low life needs to be removed from office.

"We must hang together, gentlemen...else, we shall most assuredly hang separately."
-- Benjamin Franklin

This year is going to be a rough one for gun owners. The NRA is the heavyweight in Washington, and the more members we have, the stronger our message. My message to the congresspersons is real simple: "You passed a ban in '94, and we threw 55 of you out of office. With all these new members we can top that." Something about having to go out and work for a living strikes fear in their hearts.

Well, I'm never going to send in any more dues to the NRA for my membership! Of course, since I bought life memberships for each of my two grandchildren on their first birthdays, I'll have to do the same for any future grandchildren.

Stop looking for reasons not to join. If you're here, reading this, you should already be a member.

Just the way I think!
Only new member I could get in the family was the grandson when I said he could have one of my SS 1911 .45 he had to join the NRA.
That he agreed to.... :)

I'm thinking of letting my membership lapse. Can't justify Wayne LaPierre being paid $1.5 million a year. For what? He's the face of the NRA and not a very effective spokesman. Surely, the money could be spent much better on a public relations/ad campaign to persuade people that self-defense is one of the pillars of American freedom.

$1.5 Mil/year ? You gotta be kidding.
That is ridiculous. A little too fat & happy IMO.

That said, I'm an NRA Life Member. They are the biggest out there & the most visible. Its a good idea to be a member.

I don't think they are the best out there. For that reason I'm also a member of Gun Owners of America

Gun Owners of America

I'm also a member of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (though I'm not Jewish, & you don't have to be ). Those guys are very informed as to what happens to people when they are unarmed by governments

Jews For The Preservation of Firearms Ownership

And no one can claim they are 'paranoid' for citing history.

I'm sending $300 Monday to become a Patron Member. I think it's that important and I'll sure take that $1200 discount!

Addition:
A quick Google search got me this quote from Forbes: "As for salaries, fifty-six people in the organization earned more than $100,000 in 2010—and 10 made more than $250,000. Lapierre does not top the list. Kayne B. Robinson, the executive director of general operations does. He was paid just over $1 million. Lapierre was second, pulling in $970,000 in reportable and estimated comp."
