The national debate is far from over I believe. I fear that this is going to get really ugly.
If a concealed carry law is passed in Illinois, it will be filled with so many restrictions that the average shooter will never be given the right to carry in a concealed manner ( check New York). Chicago will not give up it's ability to control Springfield. It was put in place over decades by the Democratic machine and controlled by enough lawyers keep this thing going round and round until hell freezes over. Lived in this state my whole life and have watched it being put into place year by year. I sincerely hope I'm wrong..I have a Utah permit and a Florida permit because I travel but I am considered a criminal in my home state, the State of Illinois, the Land of Lincoln.
Perhaps one State should try confiscation, just to see what we do about it?

Wrong. The 7th Circuit's decision means that Illinois MUST pass a carry law within 180 days. If they do not, the prohibition on concealed carry goes away (per the court's decision) with absolutely zero legislation to replace it. In other words, Illinois would become a constitutional carry state overnight. Do you think the liberals in IL are going to let that happen?!
The lawmakers in Illinois that would like to see you and I disarmed rolled the dice in a big way on the court decision, and they lost. They have no negotiating power left. If they try to write/amend a bill that doesn't please the pro-gun members of the IL house and senate, it will be filibustered and the 180-day stay will expire. They have to either create or get on board with legislation that the republicans and pro-cc dems (ie; all of them except the ones in Cook County) will accept. In other words, "shall issue."
My fear at this point is that CC will pass, and Quinn will add an AWB by amendatory veto. He's already tried it once.
Exactly, I have been telling all my friends who are excited about CC this very thing. We will never see it.
I don't think Quinn will do that
