Once in the water, I thought I had been careful to throw both of my shoes in the canoe but apparently one missed, so in spite of my best effort, that little episode cost a pair of shoes and a some inexpensive fishing gear. It was a long swim to shore pulling along that danged submerged canoe.
My first experience with the treachery of canoes!
