Just got a lucid hd7 sight and the only recital I can use is the single dot. My eyes cause the circle with dot to create a second ghost ring. My wife doesn't see it when she looks through the site so it's me.

The lucid is built like a tank. Clear optic and semi easy to sigh in. At 25 yards, I sighted it perfect dot for dot with the bore laser.

Goin to shoot it today.

Aging is a bitch that's for sure.

I now need reading glasses and I find that close work without them, like clearing a jam when everything is a blur, is a pain.

You will adapt, and watch the readers get "strategically" placed all over the house, range bag, etc...

:D

most blurred or double dots are caused by astigmatisms. i have one in my left eye, but shoot right handed so if i close that eye i'm fine. if shooting RDS and leave both eyes open it gets fuzzy. found out what works for me is to not use my progressive lens tri-focals when hunting since there is only that one little sweet spot on the lens that works.

i had a pair of no tint, straight distance glasses made up and bingo, perfect round dot any time. now if i have to read something close or skin out an animal i have to change back to my normal specs to see or when i'm on the computer which is all day with my job.

may want to have a pair of shooting glasses made up, pretty cheap.

i had read about a company and the name totally eludes me now, that makes a prescription lens cover that will compensate for whatever vision issue you are having. i think it screws or snaps into place, i'll have to look it up.

too bad there is no surgery like lasix for astig or vitreous floaters (those black specks that float around in your eye) i'd have it done in a heartbeat.

I can still see a mile bright and clear but like so many others the 1x Walmart glasses are scattered throughout the house and every grab bag. I guess I should not complain about being ancient as shooting is still a lot of fun and S&W has provided the 15-22 so us old guys can go out and shoot while the younger folks are at work dreaming of empty cases flying through the air.

Same here. And that's what 1x red dots sights allow the shooter to do... remain focused down range.

A lot of folks will complain about a cluster of grapes, or a dot with a tail, or starbursts on cheap optics, but that's hardly ever the case. It's usually the shooter's eyes or eyeglasses that are the issue. Here's a photo of a cheap Primary Arms red dot.

Yep, that is what I have & because of it, I have to shoot left handed. I just can't see thru the sights otherwise.

When I got my Eotech for my AR, I thought it was defective as I just saw a fuzzy starburst. Was about to call them up when I Googled that and found out those with eye issues can have this occur. So I put my glasses on (don't normally shoot with them) and danged it the ring & dot weren't perfectly clear. Normally my glasses just sharpen my vision but there is something weird about these sights... well at least the holographic ones. Without glasses it looks like the sight is on drugs... with them, crystal clear. Very odd.

If I don't wear my glasses, I can't see the gun! :D
Well you are older than me. :D

I'm not blind but need my glasses to see clearly at long range, so I normally don't use them when shooting... just driving. My condition had just caused me to shoot left handed, so no big real. But with the holographic sight, that is a whole new issue. So if anyone is having issues with their fancy optics, check with your eye doctor.

The last year I have put red dots on just about everything I have that doesn't have a scope. Even my Beretta 92FS has a Burris on it. Can't focus at all.

Just got back from the range. Sighted in the red dot and damn I'm impressed. From a bench 2" to 3" group at 25 yards rapid fire using the red dot 20 rounds each time. I was able to get a 6" group standing 25 round rapid fire at 25. I was using American and gold bullet ammo. I think that is good since I was guessing where the bullseye was.

I also sighted in the iron sights at 25 yards. 6" group off the bench sort of sucks. But I got a new pro mag pop up iron sight which I like a lot better than the magpul.

I had 2 new s&w 22 magazines and one off them cause 2 failure to feed. The golden bullet ammo would not keep the breach open after the last bullet.

Overall fun as hell. I need a magnifier on my red dot to hit anything past 25 yards.

Getting old does suck, but here's a pic of my left lens in my glasses....I got my own built in optic!

"Younger have more energy; Older have more experience"

Thats what i tell the little young bucks. And when the brass is done flying, they finally understand what that experience means.
