Hi, has anyone recently received a Tyler T-Grip? I sent a check to them approximately 7 weeks ago, and I have not heard back from them. Their site says that they shipped out, but I have not seen anything in my mail recently.

I saw a post from J.R., the guy that owns the operation. Said his home and outbuildings were heavily damaged by the recent Oklahoma tornadoes. I have emailed him twice and have received no replies. I certainly would not order from him at this time, despite what is posted on his website. I think you may be waiting for your order for quite some time. I hope I'm wrong. But he doesn't seem to be answering his phone or answering any communication attempts at this time. Please let us know if you are successful in contacting him.

Here's the post I was referring to:

I put in my order a month ago. Looks like I am in for a loooong wait.

With Tyler this has gone on for YEARS. They cash your check, they are the ONLY company on the planet not equipped to take credit cards. And ship in days, weeks, months, or MANY months. I have a few pair, and would like more but am not going to deal with their 1950's technology, or their Washington politician excuses for poor service.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a forum member who is making them. I've seen his posts in the classifieds. A search may be in order.

How hard could they be to make? I should invest in cast making and start selling them myself. Someone needs to put them out of business for good and make a better product (no, not plastic).

Please do,I love Tyler-T grips but I am sick of their BS customer service and I am not paying double on E-Pay.

This is a little off-topic, but I got a recent press release from Lyman, who now owns Pachmyr, and it told of some new grips they are making for Taurus revolvers. I hit reply and told them that what they REALLY need to do is bring back their line of grip adapters. Originals are now few and far between; I had a fellow ofer to sell me one for an N-frame and wanted $45.00! I didn't reply as I still recall the days when you could get them at gun shows for next to nothing and my Scottish heritage just would not allow me to do this. Even if Lyman/Pachmyr sold them for half that they'd make money and I know plenty of S&W and Colt revolver shooters who would love to buy some. Maybe a letter campaign to Lyman is in order?!

I ordered two sets of Tyler-T grips in early January. As you all noted, the check was cashed quickly and then weeks and months passed with no product.

I sent two emails and left phone voice mail (when the answering machine would finally accept it.) I frankly was about to contact the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office when low and behold a package arrived in the mail that day and is it was my order. The grips look good and the fit is nice. I think about 4 months had passed since I ordered the grips. That being said, this is no way to run a business!!

It's been so long since I sent them a money order and not get a set I just said fuggetaboutit....not worth the aggravation. I hope they choke on my $31.00.

It's a shame too. It's a good product with I'm sure a high profit margin. If the service were good it could be a great money maker and with a little inovation they could add new products every now and then.
