I only ran 20 rounds down the pipe but wow what a gun!!
I picked up the Magpul S&W version with the Troy Battle Sights. I was pleasantly surprised at the light recoil, and the gun was dead on from the box.

I can't wait for more ammo and warmer weather to run this gun through the wringer.

Along with the AR10 I also picked up a AR15 Sport and it too was spot on with the iron sights and allowed me to pick off 1lb Tannerite targets at 75 yards no problem. The little Sport surprised me by gobbling up brass and cheap steel ammo without a hiccup!

These two new AR's join a couple more I have in the safe... You guys told e they multiply and I didn't believe it at first, now I know!!!

AR-10 or M&P-10?

Congrats and what daddy2twins is driving at (in a humorous way) is that the M&P10 is a SR25/LR308/DPMS based platform. The AR10 is incompatible except for the ammo that is used in it.

Unlike the AR15s, parts don't interchange universally. The SR25 platform more than some of the others but there are differences between manufacturers. You will see once you get through the threads more. :)

Sorry guys, I'm new to the big brother of the AR15!

It is an M&P 10 though.... So it isn't an AR10 you're telling me.
I'm good with that!! I'll have to watch what I call it from now on.

Nice shooter with the Magpul stock though.... I heard some complaints with the standard M&P stock so I went with the Magpul.

Never experienced the OEM stock. I was told it was terrible and looking at it compared to Magpul, I can believe it.

The SR in SR25 stands for Stoner Rifle. Supposedly, the format it is based on, if not actually, the original Stoner design.

The AR10 (Armalite Rifle) is based more on the M14 format and uses it magazine. Nothing wrong with either one, one just has to know what they are dealing with and the limitations and quirks associated with it.

There are more SR25 components out there than AR10 from what I've seen. So I think the M&P10 is a better choice.

I just put a limb saver on my OEM stock and it's all good.
