Surplus Ammo has 22lr for sale in 10,000 round lots or smaller if that fits your needs.
It works out to about $6.25 a box. I like to shoot 500 .22s a week but at that price my need and my like to shoot is going down on my list of priorities. Larry

that's not hoarding..that's being frugal
I'll stress again that "young shooters" don't have issues finding ammo... they use the internet. Guess you didn't read my post... easier to blame someone else for their actions vs. your own inaction.
Gander Mtn has 525 pack Remington GB in stock $24.99 + $5 shipping and there's been a link in the ammo thread for an hour. If the folks in the club involved with the youth shooting subscribed to the ammo thread as suggested a few days ago y'all should have plenty of ammo for the kids now.
Won't happen. Its way to easy to point fingers and blame someone for their troubles than to actually deal with the problem they are faced with.
For once, I was in the right place at the right time when Gander Mountain came up, but every time I tried to log in, a big ole yellow warning page popped up on my tablet, and I missed out. C'est la vie, as they say, maybe next time.
Maybe Glowe will update the thread. He said he had not been able to buy a brick of 22s in two years and the kids in youth shooting had nothing. So maybe he and all the adults involved did subscribe to the ammo thread, got a ding on their smartphones late last night and all got a brick at $24.99.
Phil – we have gotten several members together and all have loaned ammo for the shoot. No one has large quantities, but we will do what is needed to get through this year's shoot. Someday, the club will be able to buy enough ammo to replace that loaned by our generous members. Remember, we only had 2 months to come up with alternatives and none of us are all that savvy in finding ammo online, so this was the best option. I have tried every source suggested and thank those who put up some reasonably priced options and every site was sold out by the time I got online, the latest being your suggestion of Gander Mountain.
Have been resisting posting more, since I really have little use for people who assume that this is our fault and attribute no blame on those who store 20,000 rounds plus in the basement and think it is humorous and worth bragging about on the Forum. I would guess that ladyT has lots of 22 ammo in her possession and will still buy every bucket and box that they run across in the future. Lastly, those who have no compassion or just do not care about others, are not worth my effort to explain our situation and position, plus the last thing they would think of doing is offering any of their precious hoard.

If hoarding stopped today, the shelves in most stores would be full of 22 ammo for everyone and price gouging would end.
Im going to have to strongly disagree with you. For every time two "hoarders" stop buying .22s there are two or more to pick up where they left off. It won't stop atleast for a while. If you were to spend any time at a local walmart Youd see what I meanHave been resisting posting more, since I really have little use for people who assume that this is our fault and attribute no blame on those who store 20,000 rounds plus in the basement and think it is humorous and worth bragging about on the Forum. Instead of whining about "hoarders" . . .

Cyphertext - I read your post but sounds like you are unable to grasp my point. Let me be clear. I don't give a hoot if I never buy another round of .22 for myself, but it's my wish that kids and new shooters should have an easier time getting what they need to learn how to shoot.
Wouldn't you agree it would be a better state of affairs if folks DIDN'T have to search the internet for .22 but could count on being able to find some at the LGS?
To illustrate, I was working with some youngsters in the local 4-H shooting club yesterday and thinking how different it is nowadays compared to when I was coming up. We never had to worry back then about picking up some .22 when Dad took us shooting. It was always on the shelf at just about any hardware store not to mention the local gun shop.
But now these youngsters or their Dads have to surf the net to locate some .22 and you think that is okay? Give me a break!
I'll just say it one last time and quit my rant.
IF everyone would stop this insane hoarding, supply would return to normal. It's as simple as that.
I encourage everyone to stop buying ammo they don't need. Behave like a rational consumer and we'll all be better off.
