Got my magazines yesterday

Looks like S&W is finally shipping the M&P magazines. I got my three 40c magazines yesterday. I have a lot magazines.

Still cheaper than buying three mags, but what a disappointment when I opened the box after waiting 6 weeks.

Yay got my 3 in today, brand new, they look great and fit great. Mine were 12 round 9MM with pinkie rest. Came packed in a plain box stuffed with white packing paper. They are obviously new.

Shouldn't they be 17 round mags not 12?

I could be wrong but I'm not sure they will send hi-cap mags to a state where there are any restrictions in any part of the state...Chicago had a 10 round limit at one time if I'm not mistaken. Illinois has had recent changes in the law and Smith may not be up to date. Let us know what they say.

I submitted my rebate electronically on 4/20.

I saved the screenshot of successful submission just in case. Now 9 3/4 weeks later I still don't have the free mags. The promotion was the reason I bought in the first place.

Yes I know it's not quite 10 weeks yet BUT I bought a Sig Sauer pistol with a similar promotion which had to be MAILED IN. I mailed it in and within 1 week they emailed me a confirmation AND A TRACKING NUMBER.

The Sig rebate says the same 8-10 weeks yet I will probably have my Sig stuff before I get S&W mags even though the Sig was purchased 40 days later than my actual rebate submission to S&W. Total turnaround from mail in submission to actual delivery will be less than 3 weeks.

It should be every company's goal to underpromise and overdeliver like Sig did, don't you think?

When offering a promo like this they should have 3 magazines of each size already packed in shipping boxes waiting for customer submissions. 8-10 weeks should have been worst case scenario, not standard operation.

Got my .45s two days ago 6/26/15. I called them last week and they said they got my mailed in rebate on 5/8/15 and a wait time of 8-10 weeks. I called this phone# 866-963-7933. Told them my name, zip code and she told me the info stated above. BTW the mags came in a box with the mags just wrap in paper.

When you are enticed to buy something because of a promotion they need to deliver on said promotion in a timely manner. It isn't FREE. We spent money on a product that was to include additional items. If not for the promotion, I would not have bought the pistol new.

If that is too hard for people to follow then a simple analogy might make it easier. If you bought a particular brand TV over another one because it came with a "FREE" home theater system and then never received it you would cry fraud would you not?

It's easy to make fun of someone else's situation. Your sense of humor would not be the same if it was your situation would it?

There are no excuses at this point. I have a feeling I will have to complain and also prove that I submitted the rebate. Very poor level of customer service. Incompetence is far too often seen as excusable these days. There are plenty of competent people without jobs who would love the chance to do a job right and get paid for it.

As for the smart remarks about selling all your M&Ps and buying Sigs? Sig overdelivered, S&W hasn't delivered yet.

I would love to tell everyone how my new M&P shoots but I don't have my mags yet, still waiting.

You might try the 2 mags that came with the gun. You actually paid for those. If you only bought the M&p to get the mags....I don't even know what to say to that. Go shoot your new firearm and enjoy it, you have a good one.

If you bought a new gun just for the mags I guess that's OK and then you would be correct...you paid for those mags!

You got a lotta hay, coming here and complaining the way you are, expecting an open arm welcome along with any kind of sympathy. And then to go on after slamming S&W, who incidentally did nothing wrong.... and is giving you FREE MAGS.. from a transaction you agreed to... now you call, "shame on me and a few others for not understanding...... Nooooo, shame on you for your post here, that in my book are totally out of line. There is no justification for your actions here!@!! In my book.

I hate rebates and I hate waiting but I use them when I have to. IMO, your response and some of your follow ups are a bit off.

I didn't participate in this rebate but I've never seen an online only rebate. They typically require you to follow up by mailing in the receipt and the form. It clearly states here

to allow 8-10 weeks for processing. So add the week it probably took to get your snail mail and then the week to send your magazines and you've got another couple weeks to go.

What got me to write this was your comparison to your SIG rebate that you didn't have but were sure you probably would have sooner than the Smith. Sorry but it sounds like you just wanted to be unhappy about something.

In a couple months come back if you don't have them and I'll bet people will feel sorry for you then.

Oh, you do realize that most rebates are processed by 3rd parties right? Again, no first hand knowledge on this one but sit back and enjoy your new weapon.

This advice is probably worth less than you paid for it but a few posts back someone gave the phone number to call for follow up. Try being positive and cooperative if you call it.

I have read all 4 of your posts...slowly and calmly...to understand your perspective...
and specifically the items you have pointed to in this post...

In the end, I got my magazines in or about the advertised wait...

And S&W was able to confirm the receipt of my application,
but I had to call them

Agree manufacturers should have product boxed and waiting for shipping labels
when it comes to promotions...

And while I understand supply and demand
I don't think a manufacturer should produce quantities
post sale to save on overhead and prolong customer satisfaction...

And while I have no evidence to support the appearance of no stock on hand,
it sure seems that way.

I don't think any of your posts are offensive to S&W
and those who have replied to you in a negative manner in my opinion
have not taken the the time to absorb your points!

Edit: to make matters worse, it is my understanding
that S&W uses a third party for fulfillment.
If this is indeed the case, it may explain the length of time
needed for verification of sale and subsequent release of inventory.
Not customer friendly IMHO
