It's morning of a busy week in hot St. Augustine, you know summer has arrived in FL when the wife pulls the car into the garage and you can feel the heat radiating off. Much to do and I rode the tricycle around the block for practice, still working on the bicycle.

Good morning drifters. It's 67 degrees in the desert this morning going into the triple digits before the day is done. The weatherman/woman/person says it will be 100+ for the rest of the week with 115 on Saturday. It would seem summer has arrived.

No hordes have been seen here in the desert and I am starting to think they have gone north to escape the heat.

Veterans Cemetery

Good Morning All!

It was a very emotional day for me and wifey!

We went to the Veterans Cemetery to put flowers on my Mothers and Fathers graves. It's a Beautiful place, about 20 minutes west of Nashville on McCory Lane.

Wifey was very close to my Mother. I said for years, that Momma LOVED her more than me? Not really? But she loved wifey! She treated her like a Daughter. And sometimes better than her own Daughters! Her and my Dad were only OK? By the time wifey was around him, he was a kind'a a grumpy ole man. Not kind'a, he was a grumpy mean ole fart! But wifey helped take care of my Mom after my Dad passed. Till the day, Momma passed away. So it was emotional for her too.

I drove my 32 Ford Roadster as my tribute to my Dad, he taught me everything I know about a car. So we get to the cemetery, we both cried! No normal human being, could help not to cry! There were at least 150-200 bikers with their wife's, lined up with Giant American Flags on their Bikes and American Flags on their vests. And as we slowly rolled through, they all saluted us! It was a Heart Felt Tribute!

There were news teams there filming and looked like 30-40 of older soldiers dressed in their period correct uniforms. Just walking around grave sites, some even on their walkers and in wheel chairs, talking to people. It truly was something to see.

It's a Beautiful Cemetery. It's Only about 16-18 years old. My Dad was one of the first buried there. And it's so well kept. Hundreds upon hundreds of tiny flags placed by each and every grave. It was BEAUTIFUL! And A Beautiful Day! it was just one of those unforgettable moments. Momma and Daddy would have been proud! His marker even has a Purple Heart.

It was a VERY Emotional day. And one I'll NEVER forget! And it felt good, that so many people took their time and energy, to be there for all the Veterans! And Still Care!

GOD Bless America!

Good morning drift! ⛅
68° here but unlike the desert only supposed to get up to the mid 80's.
Humidity is the typical morning 70%.
As the sun drives out the moisture chance of thunderstorms increases.
First one has popped up, but 20 miles to the east and moving northeast.
If you watch the radar it is interesting to see how fast they pop up and grow, as the suns heat rises!
Been out watering the new shrub, and planting the grass plugs from where the shrub is now. Trying to fill in a hole in the line of shrubs along the creek, that we designed to block the highway view and noise to the west over the creek. The one we planted last year did not survive the winter. The remainder are from 5' to 10' tall and need some removal of dead branches. All planted at the same time, kinda funny how their growth rates differ?
Found a funny weed in one of the shrubs. Looks almost like bamboo, about 1" in diameter, hollow and about 5' tall ! Bamboo in Iowa ?????? Old well now a dead plant!
Everyone have a good day!

Yeah, but it's dry heat, right? LOL

Mrs had me planting in the front flower bed yesterday. Putting in one plant, I hit a root, so I pushed a little harder...uh, not a root, the supply wire for our front yard post lamp...yes I cut the insulation....yes, I tried taping it....yes I cut my finger on the ground wire....no, the light isn't working....yes, I'll probably need to spend $300 with an electrician because of this $10 plant.....I hate it when I'm stupid.....but then who runs a wire 6 inches deep straight thru the flower bed?

I can positively say that Comcast/Xfinity does. Ask me how I know.

For coaxial cable and low-voltage lighting, that's pretty common. If it can't go deeper for some reason, then rigid metal conduit is required for line voltage. Very annoying though. Proof that no good deed goes unpunished. If your unfamiliar with your property, the local utilities might offer free markout service for buried lines where you need to dig.

Your lucky it wasn't fiber-optic! Or one of these....

This is 110 AC...I may just run a new wire in a safer location...
