Annoyed at thread drift

It has been a strange day for me. A fancy foodie store is having a beer sale with 20% off beer purchases of $25 or more. I made a beer run:

Coming home fire trucks passed me. The fire ended up being just a few homes over from me.

No one hurt in the fire. The lady that lives there was home and asleep, called HFD, and got out with her cat. I've been up since before 4:00 AM, so Beer Time may come early today. So many to choose from.

Well...I didn't buy a knife today...

...yet. I may have picked something else up though.

I'm incorrigible.

Just pretend this is hwitty.
I suffer as well...couldn't pass up a winchester 94 in 44 magnum last nite....need one like a hole in the head, but at $275 I can always get my money back.....or I should say, my son can get my money back after the funeral.

I'll help you out by getting it out of your way for 3 bills. Save space and make a little money. I'm a problem solver.

A good deal! Had one years ago and with rifle only loads it was very accurate but kicked worse than a Missouri mule! One shot with soft points would cut down a 4 inch pine with a center hit.

I've not been drinking beer this week, but with such good stuff on hand and such a strange day one/two will not hurt. It's Beer Time!

Today I'm having Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine Style Ale. Pours a cloudy dark caramel color with a moderate tan head. Smells of fruit, hops, and a bit of alcohol. ABV is 9.6% the alcohol smell is there but it does not have a harsh alcohol bite to the taste. The taste is of heavily hopped malt with fruit undertones. With the 20% off deal at Central Market the cost was $7.99 for a 4-pack. An excellent beer and price. I like it.

Cheers!

By the way, three of the four You Tube vids I have posted today foreshadow today's post for the USS Yolo on this date in 1945.

You know you guys are talking about rifles and about buying or making a purchase, but you know I couldn't tell you the last rifle I purchased!
I think it may have been my A3-03 ? 1942 issue I might add!
The last pistol I purchased was my 92 Beretta!
Two rifles I would like that I don't have would be an AR based rifle and an M1 Garand, I do have a Tanker and an M1 Carbine.
I'll have to think about this!

I have a Garand that my uncle left me, no AR yet...never really felt the pull....and this is the first rifle I've bought in a long time. . Mostly handguns and side by sides for me over the last few us years.

Salty RI,,,,He can't send a personal check, when the canceled check comes back, his wife will see it and say what's this, hush money again.

That's basically the way it's been for me, no great need but will pick one up when I get around to it! That's how I ended up with my A3, right place, right time and the right rifle! ;)

I have four '03 Sringfields. The first was one that was left to me by my dad and had been sporterized by his uncle after he bought it from DCMP...the second I got at a shop in Kentucky when my wife and I were passing thru Lexington. The other two are the best, one from 1918, and the other from 1930. Both complete and matching barrel and receiver. Father in law's neighbor, ex marine sold me the pair for $1000. I was only gonna buy one, but Mrs. said to take both....
