Good morning drifters. It's 103 in the desert this morning. The coffee is good, breakfast is over and the music on here is good as well. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday today it won't be long till the month is over. Where does time go? It's funny, seems like it took me 40 years to get to be 21 and that was just a year or so ago and now I'm 71. Somethings just wrong about that.

By noon it got all the way up to 67 here.:)

Black Hills Update

Tuesday, 12:30 or 1:30, or maybe just the middle of the day? CDT, MDT, wife's IPad says one thing, my Lenovo tablet says another? Forum clock I have never figured out ???
70% chance of thunderstorms! One just passed through, maybe more on the way?
Sky appears very busy, dark clouds, white tall clouds, rain walls visible, humidity up from the typical 10%. So far just enough rain to settle the dust. Wife and son got back in from their ride a little wet, but not to bad. We met them at Dakota Lake, small lake, but the fishing was slow. Jeremiah caught one small trout at the outlet creek. Me I caught zilch!
Yesterday they caught one nice lake trout, over 30", and several rainbows at Pactola on downriggers. Son broke his best St. Croix rod on another nice lake trout, which he lost right at the boat? 😥 Rod has lifetime warranty so he will be discussing with St. Croix when he gets home, no problems anticipated.
Sitting on the store porch, vacationing in perfect harmony with nature! 😎 🍺
Tonight dinner at The Powderhouse in Keystone, if the cell gods allow the call through for reservations? Tomorrow night BBQ at camp! Host/owner and his wife BBQ the ribs most of the day in the big portable cooker they have ! Life is good on vacation!
?Question? Is it vacation if you are retired??? 😗

Movie quote for today-edited to forum PG standards...

Hey! If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, (edit)less, hopeless, heartless, fat-(edit), bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey (stuff) he is! Hallelujah! Holy (stuff)! Where's the Tylenol?

Tell us how you really feel![emoji12]

I had 71 Torino, red, but no white stripes! Before that a red 68 Torino, again no white stripes! 6" Python also, but never really warmed up to the Python, all down the road?
Red Torino's sure seemed to attract various LEOs and discussions about speed limits ? 😖 Maybe it had something with being a yute with a heavy right foot? 😏

Mator Run

Just got back from a Mator run to my favorite Amish Country Store. My Only Amish Store! I've been out of Mators since Friday. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.

So I went to get a $5 basket of Mators. Spent $40 and some change.

I got me and grandson two "baked" country ham and their homemade chedder cheese sandwiches. $5 each for each of us lunch. They slice it so thin you can read through it. And pile it high and the cheese is sliced kind'a thick. I was raised here in Tennessee and remember my Momma baking country hams in a lard can 40 years ago. But these guys also do it right! It's super tender, and has the true Country Ham Flavor. And it's served on thick sliced homemade bread. I got em plain because of grandson. And knew I had fresh Mators to put on them when I got home. Otherwise, they put any combo of lettuce, mator, onion, pickles, what ever you like! FANTASTIC! it beat a Wendy's burger by a long shot, for the same money.

Also grabbed a Fresh Apple Pie! The apple filling is perfect. Not to tart. Not to sweet and the apples are not to crunchy and not to soft. Wifey will be thrilled. She LOVES their apple pies. And they barely have any outside edge crust on them! But they're $12? But Always PERFECT!

And I also grabbed me a jar of their Hot Pickled Eggs.

And I also got a basket of something I've never seen? White flesh nectarines? They look the same as regular nectarines on the outside. But white flesh on the inside. The Cute Young Amish Lady said they only have a few trees and when they're gone, they're gone? A little milder taste. And not as tart? My first white flesh nectarines? Of course the cute young Amish Lady had to let me sample a slice of one. She whipped out her razor sharp Boker, out of her Apron and whacked me of a slice! She knows a SUCKER when she sees one! She must know I love Boker's! LOL

So $40 and some change later, I got out of there! With my $5 basket of Mators! Thank Goodness it's about 10 miles one way from the house or I'd be broke every week if it was around the corner!
